At the bottom of the Castle estate, one will find the lovely harbour, which is a perfect place for a picnic lunch, there is plenty of parking, toilets, tables and seating, and so nice looking over the Lough (loch/lake), this is also a perfect area, to start a walk. A very beautiful and well-preserved place. Great for a walk and observing the boats or animals. I recommend getting a coffee near the castle and walking towards the harbor. What an amazing place to visit by water or by land. Great Aire for campervan parking (less than 6.5mtrs in length) at a reasonable fee. Toilet, shower, chemical toilet and grey water disposal available. Parking for marina users. Very clean an well kept here. Ducks and swans plentyful. A short stroll into the town. Lovely place to stay sadly seems some not following the 2 day 5 day rule lucky if you get a spot as a tourist. Spots seemed to be held. Beautiful walks, paths well maintained, beautiful peaceful place A perfect stop in your road trip. Great walk through the garden/forest with a coffee shop on sight. Stunning views of the manor and the history behind it Brilliant stopover in motorhome at the marina. Felt very safe, take a bike to get into the town, it is walkable tho. Typical Irish town, the pubs where nicer inside than appears from the outside. Friendly locals. The grounds around the castle are quite extensive. Cycling was a good option for us. A magnificent place to visit, the staff very knowledgable, the gardens are beautiful, and the history is educational.
