The Golden Anchor is situated in Castletown Co. Wexford. This area is believed to be one of the earliest Christian settlements in Ireland and thought to have links with the beginning of St. Patrick’s work here. Castletown is located between Gorey and Arklow. It lies on the Wicklow/Wexford border, and at the foot of TaraHill. (Not thee Tara Hill, but none the less, a very impressive landmark, in its own right, and famous for spectacular sunsets. Absolutely astonishing place for a nice pint. I was wandering around Clone Strand Beach when I found the pub so I decided to stop for a pint and enjoying the sunset. There is a large carpark where you can easily park your car or motorbike. I would suggest to stop here. Delicious food a d perfect Guinness with a fantastic view. Service was spot on too, lovely staff. The view is outstanding, magic sort for an outdoor dinner. Lovely country pub close to beautiful Wexford beaches and offering ample free parking Great pub with brilliant, friendly staff and a gorgeous pint. In the summer the views from outside are stunning. Didn't eat, but have a good night here, camper parking is a great idea My wife and I have spent a few weekends here at the golden Anchor bar. It is a great place to stay close to 4 great beaches , water, electric, on site . Jack and staff are really friendly and helpful . I can't recommend this caravan site enough . We will definitely be back . We are waiting on a few sunny days to travel back to the Golden anchor bar in castle town co Wexford . Dan & Dee Myself and two Friends were there to watch a football match last Sunday[ St Patricks day]. Lovely atmosphere ,service was super quick and friendly. Pints were reasonably priced. They didn't have their food menu on. [ off season] but offered everyone a complimentary bowl of Irish stew, really nice touch! Could be a great place. Very poor standard/rude barman and zero food. Food on a Sunday should be on offer and not sure why it opens so late when they could have a bustling business throughout the day. Please can you offer Sunday lunches with a view. Rubbish food and rubbish service i might be english but i live here i demand better Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
