The Tara Vale

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Fantastic atmosphere and very cosy. Lovely family run business. There was great music there tonight and great craic. Would highly recommend Great pub. Real old school. Love it Barman worth his weight in gold ,on his own and it ran like an well oiled machine, well worth a visit, and the pizzas are not bad either, pool table and great pints⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A family of 4 went in to get food, even though the sign outside on the road says food, and the sign as you walk in says pizza, they were not serving on a Thursday night in peak season in July, the pub was dead, and the barman was not exactly friendly, so we went elsewhere. Such a pity as it has so much potential. Great place for the Craic and very friendly staff. Dropped in for a quiet pint on Friday afternoon. Good point, very chilled. Poor customer service and the employees were rude and ignorant to my family and I. Lights and taps in women's bathroom did not work as I would have wished them to. Some of the food was okay but a large portion of it tasted as if it was frozen and reheated. It was extremely understaffed and on the night that we visited the establishment there were only three employees to take and deliver our orders. Very poor wifi connection and the outdoor seating was not up to our (may I say not too high) standards. I normally hate to give a bad review but I figure I should write this to give others an idea of the quality of this restaurant and also to help this establishment to improve. I'd be reluctant to revisit this restaurant. First the positive. Great ambiance, good service and plenty of parking and the Guinness was good. The food really was borderline disgusting. My hamburger and my two sons burgers were extra well done and dry and the fries tasted like they were cooked earlier and simply reheated. The food quality also appeared to be on the low end. For €15.50 one would expect better quality meat and potatoes and properly cooked. The carrot cake I would say was 2 to 3 days old. For €7 I believe it should be everyday fresh. We were there for a special family function. I won’t be stopping there anytime soon. Hopefully management will notice and address the issue ?
