Brekkie was lovely unusual in that you don't get asked what you want & no menu..full Irish is what you get & there is nothing to complain about there. My only comment is we were told we had a triple but we got 1 single 1 double.. we three slept in the one which wasnt the comfiest. The manager was very helpful when I was booking even offered to book us in Chinese across the road as we were arriving late. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good pub food. I had a slug in my top floor room, that's how stinking with mold and damp the place is. The pictures they have up isn't even of the right hotel. Bathroom window couldn't close. The shower is so small you can barely tun around, the bathroom is miniscule. In the time between me getting my key and having to trek all the way back from the pay and display carpark they had locked me out. Another one to avoid This is as far from a 'royal hotel" you can come. Its a shabby pub with a disco open until 02.40 in the night, where hotel guests impossible can sleep before 02.40. I had a really upsetting experience at Sallyas in Arklow. It was clear that the staff were treating people differently based on their nationality, and it was not just a one-off thing. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, no matter where they're from. Sallyas should be a place where anyone can come to enjoy themselves without facing discrimination. Until they address this issue, I can’t recommend it. I just spent a night here and it was a bad experience. The is small and lack of facilities. The bar was closed late with big music. And then they were making big noises outside moving their stuff into the store between 3-4 o'clock in the morning. I couldn't sleep. Will never come back again. The bar was beautiful but staying in the hotel was not an enjoyable experience. Friday night karaoke blasted through the floor and walls. It may have been fun in the bar, but not in the room. The front desk lady was nice, the carpet was new, and the was clean. However, it took forever to get hot water. Fish ok, chips dreadful.. if I’m not sick after this lunch it will be a miracle.
