Update: Christy's has new owners who have completely revamped the entire property. I enjoyed it before, but it is now next-level. Everything is new and modernised. The chef is highly rated and the food is, to be honest, the nicest food that we have experienced so far in Ireland (we have been eating-out 3 times per week (at least) for 4 years around Ireland). So, the food is great, the is great, parking is plentiful and the venue is clean and modern. There is a huge covered beer garned at the back and a brand new disco upstairs. Well done to Laine and John and their staff. Dave is still awesome. I was so pleasantly surprised. When you enter the door, it's a whole new world. The are friendly, the vibe is upbeat, the food is great, and the setting is modern. The ladies who helped us were all efficient and knew their product. "Dave" was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thanks to the owner for placing such a nice place in Arklow and thanks to the for food and a friendly vibe. We will be back. Wade *SK Language Programmes If you are looking for an amazing Pub in County Wicklow Ireland.I highly recommend visiting The Christy’s located on the Main Street Of Arklow. The Menu is amazing! selection on the menu and entrees from all over the world! The are all so professional kind and genuinely care about about their customers. Music and Amazing Atmosphere. This Bar & Restaurant rates five stars and more! It should be noted I am originally from Dublin Ireland and lived in the United States for over thirty years and served in the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a bar from all my life experiences and travels all over the world. I definitely will return in the near future! A must visit if you are looking for food and drinks . You definitely won’t be disappointed! Nice sized nite club, decent sound system n lights, had alot of fun DJing here on the 28th march, the Guinness was and the were very polite I’ve been to Christy’s a few times and really like the atmosphere—especially after the recent updates. But still finding its foot with the food. The indoor seating is much more comfortable now, and the beer garden looks lovely. It’s a spot to bring friends or the kids. That said, as someone who really appreciates food, I feel the kitchen still needs some refinement. The nachos questionable quality tortillas, and the mince and red sauce just didn’t taste good. The bruschetta also strayed too far from the classic—green peppers and onions didn’t quite deliver. I say this with kindness: the place has real potential, and I hope the food soon matches the setting. Under new management and ownership. So we were intrested to see how it all paired out. Food and decor wise. We arrived into lounge roughly 630 pm sat evening to busy lively lounge. First impression was and lively. But that's it !! we asked for a table, none available so we opted for bar 🍸. Plenty of which makes a pleasant change. Bar was loud, noisy and packed. We managed to get a table ok. But it was v dark to say the least. I'm all for atmosphere and ambience, but when I counted 7 large TV screens in bar all showing different sports but yet I couldn't read the menu as it was so dark. We both had to use our ph flashligh to read it. Strike 1, Menu was boring, v limited, outdated and v pricey, to be honest little or no imagination went into food. If i recall there were approx 4 items on the bk for kids menu, nothing exciting there either if anything food was a huge let down overall. especially for somewhere new, I understand all places have teething problems to start and what you got. Well now pics speak for themselves really. We stopped by this Irish pub by chance on our way to Wexford, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! The atmosphere was absolutely perfect – warm, authentic, and relaxed, just what you’d hope for in a local Irish pub. The were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel comfortable.A lovely place – we’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again! Was there by myself, the food was and i Had a nice table. It got busier while i was there and the place started to become alive in a way. The Service was friendly and even though i blocked a table for 4 no one rushed me in any way. Which i really appreciate because i go out a lot by my own and sometimes Restaurants treat you a bit different. Had a beer outside looking over the river which was lovely. Went inside to eat at 6.30pm. Service very slow waited for quite a while. Asked again as to how much longer we would have to wait. Shortly after food arrived. Lasagna dried out and stuck to dish. Garlic bread like cardboard and no garlic butter on it. Brought it to the attention of staff. Eventually Bar manager came over to us and kindly said he would not charge me for my meal that I was not able to eat except for the chips. Unfortunately we will not be eating there again.
