A beautiful location with stunning views and a lovely cliff walk, The old light house has plenty of company as there are three towers including the current lighthouse, one on top of the hill over looking the two older ones. On a sunny day you can see for miles, it can be hard to get parking but its well worth the effort to visit, cheers On private property. The is in a spectacular setting the views are great. It's a nice from the about one and half kilometers. There is about 3 carpark spots at the start of the lane. Or park ain't the viewing spot just down the and up. It's well worth the trip to was closed with a sign No Trespassing. Hike to it (Geln Cliff / Birdes Head) was great though! There is a straight to the but I believe it is for the farmer? Horses nearby. Love the old and to the newer lighthouses. Definitely worth a visit Not worth it don't go! The farmer has the gate locked at the end. Good luck trying to turn around on that TINY road. On one side you can see where a car broke the fence and fell in. The light house and beach view is just ok. But when a car comes from the other side and you have your rental pinned up against the bushes trying to make enough room for them to pass with cm to spare.... you will ask yourself "was it worth it" NO!!! 🤦‍♀️ here's the pics save yourself the trouble Amazing view for a little walk. The signs said this is a private property, but if you brave enough, you'll get very nice panorama. Don't forget to see the seals at brides head! WARNING !!!! while we saw that the was CLOSED, we ASSUMED that you could still drive/walk to it for a few photos. We travelled about 1klm down a single path toward the lighthouse, only to find a closed gate, a concrete open culvert on 1 side & a parked car. NOWHERE to turn around !!!! thankfully Mrs. A was able to navigate a 10+ point turn for me, that was NOT enjoyable to say the least !! SO please, PLEASE do NOT follow in our footsteps ... the reward does NOT outweigh the risk. - SPA007 Pretty disappointed when I arrived, gate on the stating private property no trespass.? Narrow no where to turn around. Great place to vist and but really wrong that the place is now gated forcing people to around dangerous dirt trails along the cliff. Shame can't see how access is cut off on road. Waste of a great area. A nice though the views at the end are limited unless you brave the off trails. These are not recommended unless you are sure footed. Lots of seabirds to be seen along the cliffs though better to kayak or take the tourist boat. Limited parking options too. It’s on private property. Looks splendid from miles away. This is incedibile to stay in and you do this through the wonderful charity Irish landmark trust website. It sleeps four in two double beds. Quite often it's booked a year in advance. It's great to know all your rent goes straight into saving the next heritage property and their work all over the island is very inspiring. They've 6 lighthouses you can stay at. Otherwise it's strictly private land with no public access and one can just see the tower from the locked gate. However when it's you in the tower you value that privacy and having the lovely walks mostly to yourself. It's a once in a lifetime experience. Remote headland setting with car access via locked gate so very secluded. Cliff walks on site. Nice and quiet Place, When we arived at 6PM, the official was closed by fence which also went all round the beacon area. You might go by the narrow path through dense grass or just by climbing the hole in the frontal fence.
