Great spot for a sunny pint, great atmosphere and fantastic service. We we're served by Dan, who poured amazing pints of Guinness! I can only rate the local summer market. I have never been to the pub itself. Bar the chipper which I wouldn't recommend unfortunately. The market is every Wednesday 10am-1pm. Mostly crafts but there were a few food stalls absent the day we went. Lovely to see local produce and businesses showcase their stock. It's small, friendly and there's the usual mobile coffee van. Decent enough coffee, hot chocolate option for kids. Bit pricey for very small hot chocolates. You can sit in the Orphan Girl outdoor seating. Plenty of places to sit, it wasn't busy when we went. Plenty of parking. Overall - nice way to spend an hour. Hearty meals. Menu invariant. Big Carpark and local fair Wednesdays during Summer. No Carlsberg😕, but various Wicklow Wolf. Excellent pool table and cues after 9pm. Nice little pub, excellent community, mixed ages from 18-70, what i enjoyed most was the ages mixing together, all out to enjoy themselves with no trouble, loved it! The food was nice (nothing special),what we didn't like was one dish came out and we waiting 5 minutes for the other two dishes, so our friends food was cold by the time our food arrived, as we went out together and expecting ro eat TOGETHER! We always go to the Orpgan girl for food and drinks and occasionally the Karoke, when we're down in wexford. But for some reason the food this winter was appalling. (We have eaten in November etc numerous times). The service was so poor, whereby our mains came out, while I was still eating and they didn't remove the plates and just dumped the mains on the table. My friend had a burger and it was cold, tasteless and so were the chips. I had the "chicken fillet" burger - but it wasn't - it was a massive bread bun and a thin breaded piece of chicken in the middle. (17euro it cost). But the chips were hot, only as they brought mine out last as i was still eating my starter! We suspected the food was from the chipper next store. My husband had the steak sandwhich and no ciabatta in sight, but two slices of garlic bread instead. Steak was decent tho and nearly done to his liking. Overall, very pricey at 73 in total for us two, including 1 beer each. Shocking as we were there during the summer, so couldn't understand the poor quality and service. If it keeps up we won't be eating there and will just cook in the mobile or go to gorey. Shocking. Hopefully it was a once off. P.s worth mentioning the couple beside us had fish and chips and didn't like there's either. Was overcooked batter and burnt and noticed our mains came out while we were still eating our starters! Give the food a miss. Chipper food at restaurant prices. Massive portions but quality isn't great. Staff were attentive but would recommend for drinks only. We went in the Orphan girl on the way home from the beach this evening and had a delicious meal, the service was impeccable. We've 5 young children, 2 of which have additional needs and the staff were so lovely, patient and attentive. Sometimes dining out can be a little daunting and occasionally negative but we left with full bellies and hearts 💕 and wanted to share the experience. 10/10 would definitely recommend and 100% will return. Thank you! 😊 Absolutely disgusting place. I turned 18 recently and I went here for a drink, I was asked for ID when I showed my full, valid, Irish drivers licence for the bartender Finbarr to not even look at it and only to be told “we only take age cards”. Not 1 sign posted saying so. I asked to speak to this bartender Finbarrs manager, to which the manager could only tell me “we only take agecards”. After asking him why not, all he could say was “we only take agecards”. Fed up of this, I go to turn around and walk out as it was getting intense, before I know it I am being picked up by the arm by a man 3x my age and 3x my size and physically dragged away, not even being allowed to get my girlfriend so we can leave. Unless you have an agecard or can handle being assaulted by 6,4ft+ man, DO NOT GO HERE.
