This was our final stop of Peaks of the Balkans, and it feels like this guesthouse really offered the warm, Albanian atmosphere! Would really recommend! This guesthouse is located right at the start/end of the Theth-Valbonë route. It is beautiful location and the property has a veggie garden, chickens and dogs and friendly cats. We stayed in a free standing timber cabin with a newly renovated bathroom. The shower was strong and hot - perfect after a long hike. The cabin was warm and clean and the beds were comfortable. The that runs the guesthouse is friendly and warm. They prepared a generous breakfast and dinner for us for an extra fee. Beautiful, family-run homestay. We felt very welcome and the food was amazing. It’s perfect for starting the hike to Theth or other hikes around Valbona. By chance we discovered this enchanting place. The accommodation is located a bit after where the asphalt road ends, but is easily accessible by car. In the middle of nature you will find a paradise with a vegetable garden, a wooden dining room with a stove, a traditional stone house with rooms with thick walls (cool, quiet and clean). We were warmly welcomed by the entire family, the little boy immediately stole our hearts, but soon after the rest of the family. Both the dinner and the breakfast are great. You could taste that it was prepared from their own garden and with a lot of love. We definitely recommend trying the home-made natural wine, which was excellent! Because we enjoyed this oasis of peace so much, the delicious food, the lovely and the butterflies during the day and fireflies in the evening, we decided to stay an extra day. That was no problem at all, we were given tips at breakfast for our walk. In the evening we returned from the walk quite late, but to our great joy we were able to eat with them and they were all different delicious dishes than the day before and there was a dessert. While enjoying a nice glass of wine we talk about the walk and it was a nice ending of our two days. We are touched by the hospitality, helpfulness, good care and the wonderfulness of this entire experience!!!! We went only for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel. This was one of the best and most authentic meals I’ve had. It is a fun homestay and it shows. The food is made with love and care! €13 euro and so much food. They change the menu every night as their eats the food too and don’t want the same thing all the time. I HIGHLY recommend visiting if you have the opportunity. This place is beautiful and the that run it are so kind and hospitable! They grown all their own veg and make their own wine. Breakfast and dinner was sublime.
