Beautiful example of Romanesque architecture in the heart of Sligo The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception,Sligo is a HOLY dwelling place of God. The divine atmosphere for praying is felt. HOLY timing On Sundays are 8.30 am, 10.30 am, 12.00 am 7.00 pm. An adoration chapel is within the Cathedral. It's beautifully arranged and there were few praying in silence. I was filled with peace and joy of Christ. There is some renovation going on for this huge beautiful structure which adds to the beauty of Sligo. Yes 💯 it's the Power House of Sligo. My friend who took me to Cathedral is a regular visitor with family. He shared with me his awesome JESUS' experience. There are Holy Relic of few saints. I, being an Indian was happy to pray the intercession of St. Mother Theresa staying close to her relic. Parking facility is available including for the disabled. I only used the car park. Not religious, so I haven't been inside, but it's a very austere building in finely cut dark grey limestone. The tiny St John's cathedral next door is much more attractive with it's lovely random rubble walls and slate roofs. I'd like to look inside this one, but it usually is locked up. I was here for the National Order of St Columbanus annual AGM mass. Very impressive. Well worth a visit, even outside times. Has a divine atmosphere for praying. Four Catholic holy on Sundays, including the at 7 p.m. On Sundays the timings are 8.30 am, 10.30 am, 12.00 am 7.00 pm. An adoration chappal is also located nearby. Parking facility available including disabled parking. While I wouldn't describe it as a turn-of-the-century gem, it certainly pleases the eye. The presbytery building with the statue of the bishop and a gabled window is very well detailed. The interiors of the church are quite dark, due to quite small windows located mostly up in the main nave. Very interesting coloured mosaic floors. 12 o'clock Sunday has lovely choir Just perfect, no one in. I went to light candles for my step son who had passed away on the 13th October, my beautiful stepson Anthony.
