County Sligo Club is an absolute gem and hands down one of Ireland’s best courses! The layout is stunning, with views that’ll make you wonder if you’ve stumbled onto a postcard. The course is challenging in all the right ways, with perfectly manicured greens and fairways that have you working for every shot. And then there’s the 12th hole… a masterpiece. It’s the kind of hole you’ll tell your friends about, not to mention dream about sinking that putt long after you’ve left. County Sligo isn’t just a round of golf; it’s an every golfer should have at least once! Spectacular from the word go. The reception we received was flawless, the course was phenomenal, the food & beverages at The View were perfect and the actual view was incredible for sunset. Put it on your list if you havent and if you havent played in a while, i'd suggest giving it another go. Great experience. Kudos to all. PS: the last photo is of the nearby Rosses Point Lifegaurds playing rugby on their break. Well worth adding to your Ireland trip. Classic links, fantastic set of par 3’s, amazing vistas. Go and My rating is almost only based on the green fee that is being charged, so let me be plainly honest: is it worth that much of money? Unfortunately, as 12.7 handicapper it was not worth the money for me, also given the pace of and the Links course feeling itself. There are far nicer Irish Links courses, for even a lot less money; yes, they are a bit remoter but absolutely worth the drives. Now, while the course itself is in great condition and the views on the surroundings are absolutely fascinating (especially on the big dunes in the middle of the course), it's missing the real Irish Links course experience; except the constant and strong wind, I didn't really feel the of Irish Links (unlike at Carne Links); also, a lot of the grass seems to be cut down (to help making an acceptable pace of play?). Additionally, the club house is at best okay (aged interior, restrooms and the pro shop not easy to find), the practice facilities are somewhat poor and the course is just overloaded with players (long waiting times and a slow round of is hurting the significantly). I couldn't find my rhythm of with the constant waiting. I sincerely hope the pace of can be improved (maybe tee-off every 12 minutes?) and please let some grass grow back to give the course more of a Links feel. And surely, the price could be adjusted a bit. Thank you. Ask for Steven if you get a caddy. He's a meme and the greens like family! Simply a wonderful course with amazing views to boot. Congratulations to the whole team at County Sligo GC Rosses Point you make the course a fabulous golfing experience. Right through the team from the green keepers the pro shop the bar team and Des the starter what a super job being done by all. In any golfers bucket list of places to this course is a absolute must play. The store has clubs & anything you need to have an amazing day at the Club. At the ranges you can get the balls for 2€, a full basket It has a small put where you can practice at the top & at the bottom of the Club, to get to the bottom you have to drive through the Club with your own car. We celebrate my mom’s 72 bday having lunch (big portions) & practicing some swings. The beach is right next to it so that’s what we did after golfing. It was amazingly beautiful specially at sunset Our fifth stop on our tour of NW Ireland. Unfortunately it rained most of the day and I played poorly. Nevertheless everything else was great. A very friendly and welcoming staff from our arrrival, to the pro shop, and restaurant staff. I only wish it wasn’t raining so we could’ve seen and enjoyed the views more. Thank you. Knocked in last Sunday afternoon, for a snack and a couple of drinks. As non members, and non players,we were greeted with nothing but warmth and welcome from bar staff and members. Particular praise to the Hungarian lady serving food. She is a credit to your club. And the grub was great also. Hopefully see ye again. I was lucky enough to be a part of three trips to Ireland over the last three years and County Sligo was one of my favorite out of the 20+ we have played. It all starts with the people there, from the general manager on down everyone at Rosses Point is great to deal with and will do just about anything for you. Now on to the course, the first four holes give you some amazing elevation changes with the view from the second green being unmatched. That’s what I thought until I got to the fifth tee, you will be truly blown away when you stand on this tee overlooking the valley below and the rest of the course. County Sligo also has some very interesting par 3’s on the course that vary from having bunkers protecting the greens to semi-blind tee shots, everything you would need for a fun and challenging day. The best way that I can tell you that Co Sligo is an amazing course is to say that I very rarely will a course a second time when I am on a buddies trip but after our 2022 stop there we immediately knew it had to be on our itinerary for 2023. If you’re going to the west of Ireland make sure that County Sligo is on your list of to play, you will thank me later. Beautiful and relaxing course. Fairways are generally generous with a few tighter ones. You do not really hit the dunes until the back nine. Greens are fairly typical of coastal courses, a little bumpy but fair and consistent. 4 stars because for 265 Euros, charging 3 Euros for range balls is silly (same was said of my home club and it changed). Also tee markers are different colors than the card, would have been nice to have been told at check in vice having to figure it out on the course (only 3 colors out there and different sequence on the first three holes). Post round had a pint and a starter, then had to pay for each separate (odd). Staff was polite but not friendly like I at other Irish links at this price point. Will again when in the area. One of my favourite links in Ireland - the team, the hospitality and the course are 5 star from the minute you walk in the gate to when your last putt drops. Love coming back! Incredibly fun round of on a perfectly maintained course, picturesque backdrop, the staff take fantastic care of you, and my caddie David was absolutely phenomenal. He made the round thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end, gave excellent tailored advice, and I really can’t thank him enough. 11/10 highly recommended if you can manage the high difficulty.
