Not a fan , we just stayed here with a 6 man tent. We were giving a spot beside the playground/football training area , people were kicking a ball against the metal fencing at 12:30 am. Then a bloke and his son at 7:30am. So that was not good. A family beside us had a kid that came in to our tent 5 times in 2 days , jumping on beds and scaring our dog. We spoke yo the owner and he said he had loads of problems with the family the previous year. . Why would you have them back. If my dog bit him , the garda would be up for doggy. We left early. 2 stars for amazing views and the young lad working there, who was sound. We left early as we thought we would end up coming back to a trashed tent. And no locking up of football practice area ment no sleep. A large well organised site with excellent facilities. Fortunately we were given a pitch near the beach with sea views, some of the pitches further back weren’t so nice. A big open sandy beach, good for surfers but not safe for swimming. Several interesting walks from the site. A short drive into Sligo. Great pizzas from the van next door, and a fish-n-chip van on site. We stayed here for three nights. Nice location for access to the beach and the shops. Toilets/showers and waste disposal facilities are very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. The one thing i found strange was the fact that anyone could access and walk around the place day or night and with loads of small children running around up to midnight ? I spent a night there while i was on a cycling trip around the west. I can seriously recommend this camping place so much! The owner was so welcoming to me and even offered a hot water bottle because the night was colder. the best camping place for cyclists, a 10/10 !! He appriciated the cycling hustle and restocked me with protein bars. Thank you so much for this welcoming stay! Stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it! It’s a fantastic seaside campsite – you can hear the waves, grab some tasty fish & chips, and enjoy an ice cream nearby. The toilets and showers were spotless, and the whole site is really well maintained. My only small criticism is that the site is open for anyone to walk in at any time, day or night – I’d love to see a bit more security in place. That said, it didn’t spoil our stay, and we’ll definitely be back in 2026!
