Great Pub food is good good variety. Staff are and helpful. Dogs are allowed Lovely old pub feeling Loads of car space and free camper van parking. Lovely fire Great Irish service Fantastic veggie burger and incredibly staff. They really expanded the menu well since the last time we were here. Great atmosphere and just a brilliant family meal. A bit more on the veggie/vegan side of things and it'd be perfect. I'd recommend this place like a shot. A wet weekday night, I booked as there were 11 of us, there were a few people in eating when we arrived at 6pm. The menu is varied but not huge, the food was delicious. I had the Irish featherblade steak and it was yummy, so tender and when I asked for more gravy it was readily provided. The onion rings were awesome! The staff were friendly, the service was great. A really good meal. Absolutely fantastic boozer, the food is delicious and served with a smile and there is a great selection of beers on draught. Whenever I'm making a ferry crossing I'll always make a stop here. Absolutely cracking spot. We stayed at a nearby hotel and were given this restaurant as a suggestion. The food was excellent, and the portions are big, even to American standards. We got the Caesar salad with nachos to share, and the salad was enough to fill me up. I definitely have to go for a walk after, because the food was too good to put your utensils down for. Food was very nice and the staff were friendly. It was a busy Saturday night and they seemed to be a little understaffed, which caused a delay for food and drinks. I asked for the bill and the waitress went to get it but got side tracked on the way with other tables calling her over. So I went up to the bar and paid. Dog too! When we walked in there was 2/3 todays quietly sitting with their owners Menu is varied and atmosphere was nice. However not a great place for food allergies/ intolerances. After telling the waiter I can’t eat onions and being told I could not get a salad without the onions, I ordered tempura prawns which were delivered laid on top of onions. I sent it back reminding waiter that I can’t eat onions. As I am now at home with severe stomach cramps and nausea requiring medication, I am concerned that the prawns having touched the onions were just transferred to a new plate or the sauce served had onion in it. Very disappointing as the fish and chips meal was lovely. We had a fabulous meal here on our way to the ferry. They were short staffed but nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious (husband said best beef he's had in years) and so beautifully presented. Definitely service with a smile. Pub and facilities were clean. Generally just a happy place to be.
