The museum tells the grim story of famine in Donegal and follows the story of Hannah who entered the workhouse. After that the museum shows a brilliant edited film of one family holidays over 30 years. Good gift shop and cafe. Lovely friendly staff. We were made very welcome and the staff were amazing. Lovely tea shop attached with good food and atmosphere, a great little gift shop with Irish treasure to buy. 10 out of 10 from me and well worth a visit. Beautiful place. Didn't do the tour this time but I plan to be back and will do it then. Staff are all very friendly & helpful. The coffees & selection of scones and pastries are delicious Nice cafe. Great host who introduced us to the buildings history. Good audio tour and plenty of information. Fascinating place A very small museum that consists of 4 rooms. There is an entry fee of 6 euro. The people,.workimg here are nice. There are toilets and a few free car parking spots outside of the museum. A 30 min audio (they give you earphones) is included into the entry fee. From we walked into the Workhouse the lady at the reception counter was very welcoming and friendly. The lady was a book of knowledge full of information, and the tour was great not too long just a perfect amount of time gift shop has plenty of wee gifts for all ages. When the tour was all over we had a chat with the lady from reception and you could tell she enjoys working there a real credit to the Workhouse museum. Would definitely recommend visiting this wee place. We provide off road 4x4 tours in Donegal and often stop off at Dunfanaghy Workhouse. Our guests enjoy visiting and the staff are extreamly helpful.
