A most beautiful track in the Westmeath countryside. The facilities are not the big posh variety like Leopardstown or other bigger places but everything is there. Ample, well-stewarded parking, bars, self-service restaurant, an ice cream van, coffee stand and chip van. The top bar in the marquee had a guy on keyboard and guitar singing ones we all knew. There were also very good loos. There was a full compliment of bookies at the Friday evening meeting and although the cold wind froze us, a good time was had by all. It is a beautiful course where you can get close to the runners and riders and have a good view for most of the race. Remember that you have to cross the track to get to the stands, so try not to arrive near the off of any race or you will have to wait until all finishers are off the track to walk over. Just the best racecourse! Superb facilities, and viewpoint. The most perfect finish to Kilbeggan's racing season. Hilary, Nicky and all the staff(and patrons) were unbelievably helpful to Sean and myself. He had a ball. Thanks so much to everyone who made his day at the races so special and memorable. I love going every year as I grew up with big American muscle cars €15 entry. €7 for a bottle of beer. Long queues at the bar. Facilities not great. A number of jockeys were using their whips excessively. Entry and exit out was far too small to allow patrons through safely. One star is being generous. First and last time here. The views of the track are excellent, the facilities are spotless, and they had plenty of tasty options. The ice cream was the best I’d had in a long time. We especially loved the live music and how easy everything was from start to finish. We got a discount booking our tickets on the website and the kids were free. A great spot for a fun day out!
