Really enjoyed this amazing and challenging parkland course one of the best inland golf courses. A hidden gem with very friendly staff in the clubhouse love it. Great course, a ton of variety in the hole layouts. Be warned though, it is very hilly and nearly every hole features a change in elevation. To the credit of the course every hole features an in depth map, for anyone playing for the first time these are essential. A buggy would be good for anyone not seeking a good workout. were fast and very good condition. The club members were very welcoming Very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are a small bit on the basic side but the course has some great holes on it. Most golfers know why it's on the bucket list and is definitely worth playing. Not expensive to play and buggy hire is also reasonable so I'd recommend getting one. The clubhouse bar looks like the kind of place you would have great craic in on a full night. Esker is fantastic. It's a hilly and difficult course, buggies are advisable. The course was in excellent condition. We played on a Thursday, it was open day. Green fees were €25,shockingly cheap for such a venue. Can't wait to golf there again. I played here yesterday 8th of August knowing nothing about the place. First impressions were not good as the clubhouse looks tired and carpark etc looks unkept. But my god the course was fantastic. Lots of dog legs loads of different types of holes that i had never seen before and the greens. The were simply amazing. The best i have ever played in Ireland. They were big and hilly and 100% consistent in speed, truly hats off to the staff as they were exceptional.They were so good I had to go into the reception and tell them that as i was blown away by them. In the car back home we were discussing the course and both of us would give it a solid high 8 out of ten and would go back there at anytime. I cannot recommend Esker Hills enough. Great golf course. Beautiful Golf course, fairways and kept really well, challenging but very enjoyable. People in the clubhouse and reception are all very helpful and friendly, love playing here. Played the course last week. Sign on the clubhouse said ‘light sanding on greens’… 3 of the were like putting in a bunker… I understand maintenance needs to be carried out but this was as bad as I have seen in 20 years playing golf. An email or call to let us know would have gone a long way. I emailed voicing my disappointment and I didn’t even get the decency of a response/ acknowledgement!!
