In the shadow of Delvin castle, my first time here but my mother and sister are regulars for food here.... and today my sister was treating us to a meal and a beer or two.....great! Parking around the back which is very accommodating and handy. We entered via the back entrance.... Pub had a crowd considering it was a week day and the middle of the day...... a mix of drinkers and eaters! Decor is nice, a place that has a old country pub vibe - welcoming and comfortable. Ordered a lasagne with chips and a pint of Guinness. Food was served quick and with a smile, and efficient service. The lasagne with chips came with some salad......all mixed together was fantastic, very delicious and well cooked. Pint was good, so I went for another one! All in all.......everything was fine for me, and both my mother and sister were happy with their orders too. Great! My order came to about 14 Euros for the food, which isn't bad at all! Cant get a better compliment than that I was stuffed! Ha. Great little pub, and hopefully I will return next time I am home. Recommended! Great place to pop in for a drink or something to eat. Was in for breakfast , was greeted from behind the bar when I came in the door and my tea was on the table as I sat down. The 'small' breakfast is plenty for anyone !! Staff are very friendly and the toilets are spotless . spot to stop if on the N52 Well 2 out of 3 meals was gd, they were roasts, and the other was lasagne, was nt great it was like cheap mince meat, it was mushy,to point only ate the pasta. Lovely food and great service!! Very family orientated. There is a small quiet area out back and a great view with seated area in the front. Have heard a lot about the breakfast in The Caman Inn in Delvin, but this was the first time to try it. While the pub was quiet (where isn't in November), the breakfast certainly didn't disappoint. No oil on the plate, which is a great sign in a full Irish, Priced around what you'd expect to pay for a breakfast. A refill of tea/coffee wasn't an issue and the two members of staff were very pleasant. We stopped here on our way to Carlingford because we wanted to watch an Arsenal football game. They don’t have sky but we decided to forego the game and order food. We ordered the Super burger. It’s a chef special. This HUGE plate of food came out. A with homemade onion rings layered on top with homemade fries. Luckily we were splitting the because it had to be an 6lb beautiful piece of beef. The usual toppings, including a specular tasting type of saucy jam. The was a full on chunk of the most flavorful beef that was perfectly cooked. Now I usually like my medium rare because overcooking takes from the taste. This was so soft and tender and it’s the best we’ve ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and we thanked the chef on the way out. Excellent spot for food. Stopped for a small brickie this morning. Had a beautifully done poached egg on toast with a pot of tea. Reasonably priced. Normally I stop for a lunch or dinner and the food is always well presented, well cooked and an very adequate choice from a reasonably priced menu.
