We were so impressed by this visitor center! It is tucked away behind a gift shop; don’t miss it. The displays about the local ceili band were also fascinating. This is an absolute must stop if you’re in the area. Just wonderful and so well put together. They offer great information on the Burren as well as surrounding areas. Just fabulous. This place is a great set up with very cool exhibits, and it makes for a nice break from sightseeing outdoors in Clare. The only knock is that they tout it as free, but then REALLY hit you up for contributions. I get it, but you know. What a great, little center! Loved the museum, the online guides, the café, and the shop. Have been back more than once. The staff is friendly. They have a kid's game in the museum that was worth doing! Sheepington has become my daughter's new favorite stuffy. The visitor center is an important stop if you are driving through the Burren. There is an excellent small museum and gift shop. It has an interesting, thorough history of the Burren. We only spent about 30 minutes here and It was helpful to visit before exploring the Burren. The place is run by the community on a volunteer basis and you can make a donation to support the place. The woman working at the desk helped me plan our route and gave us suggestions for a good place to walk. This was outstanding. The location is just beautiful. The Staff were amazing. I would highly recommend it. What a place! Such lovely staff, with a great little exhibition centre, and cafe. Best of all, a FREE summer shuttle bus to spots all over the Burren including the Cliffs of Moher, with FREE entry when you get there. Our shuttle bus driver Philip was really friendly and informative, and clearly loves showing people around the area. This is an incredible resource run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Highly recommended. So glad I decided to stop here first. They were so helpful and the facilities are excellent quality. The has many local artisans’ wares. The homemade vegetable bisque at the cafe was delicious and made with care. Please support them! Great small but interesting and informative volunteer run non-profit visitors centre with good cafe and toilets and selling local art etc. Well worth a visit if you are the area to see the Poulnabrone Dolman a short drive away - and there’s a free shuttle bus to the Cliffs of Moher, where entrance is free for passengers, unlike the £15 per person charged if you drive there and use the car park, which you have to as there is no where else to park! The Visitor Centre in Kilfenora is a gem. It was the perfect start to a fabulous day enjoying the Burren. The display about the Ceili Band, adjacent abbey and Celtic high crosses were bonuses.
