Excellent place. The bare feet is wonderful, the insects museum full with nice and a good Cafe with friendly service. The house of the ants and their labyrinth were just great! We had a lovely visit. Have bin here a few times and I can see they change some things, that's nice to see. Further we visited the insect museum, it wasn't so special. But did folk in a good hour. I would recommend go here for a lovely day, especially in the summer. Family outing for young and old. Very fun parcour and afterwards your feet and silky smooth! We did a wonderful on green route, it was around 6,5 km by GPS, despite 5 km was written on the map. However it is really good place to chill out, listen to the birds, lay down on the grass and so on. Route crossing some public roads, and there are some fenced private property along your walk. There is no toilet on the walk, only in visitors center, and there is no any garbage bin, so this can be improved. There are some benches on the way (3 to be precise), so you can take a rest. Majority of forest is pines, so it give you nice smell under sunshine. For sure will be back to have longer walk. Nice place as much as any other hoge kempen places. Nice trail. Interesting experience. Worth to try. The only drawback is that there are not a lot of places to take a break on the trail. Nevertheless, it is kid friendly, and they will love it. I walked the blotevoetenpad with my 4 yo and 5 yo kids. Walking barefoot sometimes hurts, and that was too much for the youngest. I was reluctant to pay to around in mud, but kids got a lot of entertainment for the small entry fee. It took us 2 hours for the walk, although it's only 3 kilometers long ! Prepare accordingly... You can clean your feet afterward. Bring a towel to dry them as well as 1€ coins for the locker. Do plan to avoid busiest moments because otherwise at some parts you might some serious foottraffic wich undoes a little from the ! So plan ahead and prepare those feet for an unique coming close and down to earth 🩷 The staff were very friendly at the visitor center. Lost a star due to lots of bark to over which is very sharp. The other obstacles are much kinder on the feet Lovely place. Nice and great picnic spots where you can socialise with a large group. AH-mazing barefoot hike experience! 4 out of 5 stars due to non-English signage and since we missed the 2nd half of the due to the intersection of the road, where we didn't know that the continues (no signs about it - we learned later that there was a continuation of it).
