Unfortunatelly you cannot enter into the Grove. But the place is worth visiting. Has nice story behind I visited Duckett’s Grove recently, and the experience was truly memorable — especially when the evening fell. The place has a haunting, romantic charm that stays with you long after you leave. By daylight, Duckett’s Grove already has a mysterious beauty. The are dramatic, surrounded by wild gardens, archways, and remnants of its former splendor. Paths wind around the estate, offering glimpses of broken windows, stone walls, and creeping vines. It feels like stepping into a gothic novel. After dark, though, the atmosphere becomes something else entirely. The are beautifully illuminated, giving them an ethereal glow against the night sky. The soft lighting brings out textures in the stone and casting intriguing shadows that add to the sense of history and wonder. Visiting after dark was one of the highlights of the trip — the place feels alive in a quiet, spectral way. One small downside: the main gate is locked in the evening, so you can’t walk through the central entrance. That means you’re limited to walking around the perimeter and along exterior paths, rather than through the full interior grounds. It’s a bit of a shame because some of the more dramatic views are accessible only from inside, but the walks around the fence are still atmospheric and worthwhile. The site has good paths and viewing spots along the boundary walls, and you’ll still get many angles of the ruins. Security seems well maintained, and the experience feels safe even in low light. In summary: if you're into atmospheric ruins, historical architecture, and a dose of evening magic, Duckett’s Grove is a must-visit. Just be aware that after dark your route is restricted to perimeter walks — make the most of it, linger by the illuminated walls, and enjoy the mysterious beauty of the place. What a lovely find! An easy drive from Dublin, and well worth the trip. The are gorgeous and so well maintained! There are many informational signs and an audio tour is also available. This would be such a spot to have a nice picnic lunch and stroll the gardens. The inside of the house proper is not accessible, but you are able to make a circuit around the outside. There are to explore, and some "hidden" trails and secrets to explore as well. I am appreciative for the preservation of this gem, and the open availability to the public! mansion in great condition! The best "castle" we've seen in Ireland. The walking were pretty and the audio guide was helpful. The Staff Keeper was very friendly. And... It's FREE! Highly recommend. I went here by chance to see the place and fly, it was a cloudy Saturday morning but the are lovely, they have an office and toilets too so it was nice, I didn't go into the itself, but walked around and had nice time Here is a fabulous old or should I say the of an old that stood for almost 250 years, but was totally destroyed in 1933 from a massive fire. only the shell of the is left, but it is a nonetheless and you can walk all around it, but you can’t go inside. decided is a large walled garden. That is very well maintained and well worth a visit. it’s divided into two sections one with a large amount of apple trees. There is a small gift shop. And you can take guided tours of the and the garden. If you drive to the castle, well before you get there is a huge entrance gate on the side of the road that was for the castle, it is almost 2 miles from the so you can imagine the vast amount of acreage they owned. to walk around, the coffee van is great!! the little souvenir shops is filled with local bits which I love!! not too busy as it's a bit outta the way so perfect day trip 😊 the and orchard are gorgeous! wish you could go into the tho!! Fabulous place to walk through. The are stunning and well maintained. There's a small playground and lots of space for kids to explore. Gorgeous, reasonably priced souvenir shop with very friendly staff. Tourist information area with very interesting history about the house. Tea/coffee available too. Audio guide was a hit with my eldest (11). And best of all...... its FREE! A rare occurrence these days. An old beauty in the countryside! Very interesting to walk the and explore while imagining what it would have been like at its prime while the family lived here. A great find!
