I arrived 3 minutes before my appointment and was punctually called. The Vehicle Tester asked for my licence and jokingly said I'd chosen the worst vehicle in Ireland to undergo NCT. I was taken aback by the sense of humour as I cannot believe the hours they work.....sometimes from midnight onwards. The members were affable, which made the daunting experience simpler than I anticipated. I would like to commend the & staff. I cannot believe how busy they are. When the tester returned, he had parked my car in the wheelchair spot outside the door. I am using a crutch at the minute. Managed to get a cancellation at this centre. Arrived a little early and checked in at the self service. Was called almost immediately to register. Car was taken into garage 10 minutes before appointment. This is well managed and I was impressed . were very pleasant to deal with. My car but were lovely regardless. Had great in there … perfect and experienced ….10 minutes was all done and mission accomplished the on a light bulb on the fog lamp and they marked it down as a major failure instead of a visual They are an absolute joke. None of these so called experts have a clue what they’re doing. THEY FAIL YOU FOR ABSOLUTE anything. Worst NCT in the country. Every single member is so rude like they have a rod up their backside. It’s so shocking in there I’m not one for advocating people losing their jobs but this place is just horrible Nct website says is open on Sundays. Arrived at 12:30 for a visual & the whole place is closed despite the website saying it’s open until 22:50. A total disgrace, on rust which there was no structural damage only surface even though they hammered with a screwdriver, on a ball joint which was not a ball joint but a bushing , on moisture in the spot lamp . Are these people mechanics , writing to the NCT to launch an official complaint. Carlow NCT you are a disgrace I was there for half an hour and all cars have failed, so I wondering are they doing in purpose? Also damage something in my car and left on the floor...waiting Monday to call and complain. Changed my control arms just two months ago, the hole front suspension had been replaced for completely new parts. They me on worn ball joins. These ball joints are only 2 months old, the most expensive parts I could have gotten as well. These people know nothing or are ignorant, please avoid this place An absolute shower off basterds me on tinted tail lights even tho you can see clearly threw them and they me with them last year you know who u are also he said my registration plate was insecure even tho I haven’t touched it from year before he took it out off the zip ties himself he me major because the boot was full off luggage he also ripped my leather seat is this normal? If I could give zero stars I would. I, a young female, went into the on my own. I had a part robbed from under the bonnet of the car. I know this because I had a family member who works on cars check the car before and after the and they said the part was definitely there before and not after- therefore no other explanation than them taking it. They also me on a “rear headlight motor” not working? Firstly I did not know there were headlights on the back of cars now and I also had this motor checked by a family member after the and it is working perfectly. Had to pay €30 for a retest for nothing. Every single person working in that is ignorant and clearly takes advantage when they see women going in on their own. DO NOT get your car tested here. And if you do, make sure you take video evidence of the inside, outside and under the bonnet of your car first- as they are prone to taking what they please, as I have heard from many people before. Highly recommend, are lovely & the car was tested at the time I was given with no delays Got to office on time was waiting be seen guy with beard calls my name grabs my keys off daughter before handing himself i.d (driving licence) afterwards i heard my car been drove into garage at over top speed.. i then headed outside while standing there i heard very loud bang come from where my car was ..it sounded like metal being bashed off metal .. weird i thought what could that be after it ball joints which my mechanic only reviewed all parts of engine and cv boot saying its cut.. the car engine sounded perfect before bringing it in now its home and has ticking sound out the engine i would prefer to not complain about this but this doesnt make sense .. especially his manner speeding in garage and bang then car sound like it got bang today ..this man should be fired A joke ! My car Nct 8!weeks ago after a headlight alignment Retest , I sold my car to a friend and said I’d get it again as peace of mind ! I only done 30 Klms as I was away working , on steering rack Back shocks and track rod end ! Total dishonest . There paid bonus to fail ex amount I’m currently talking to the RSA as my mechanic can’t see any problems avoid this terrible attitude .
