Nice views of Bogs Takes about an hour to get around. It was a good trail that wasn't mucky. Surprisingly popular but not too many people. It's a lovely flat and seeing the active turf stacks was really interesting. Plenty of benches and tables for a picnic. It's a great walk. Nice idea poorly executed No car park, so you have to try and at the various gates (room for about 3 cars) Walkway signposts are very hit and miss, twice I ended up back on a busy road Large and bike rack, be better used as a car and have areas spread out (I seen one random bench) Be nice to have a few information signs about turf etc An honesty box and even small pieces of turf to take home to show people etc Nice not too far from Navan but could be so much more Free Bog and trails. area, bike racks. It's a beautiful 4.75km looped bogwalk along the Jamestown Stone Trail, a crushed gravel pathway through the boglands and a small forested area. Parking is very limited and bar benches there are no facilities though there used to be a coffee vendor “converted horse box” Its flat and easy although it is not suitable for prams or strollers, mountain biking be fairly bouncy “good suspension a must”. The path runs along the roadside before turning into the bogland where family plots of rared turf is evident or woodlands and forestry. Very peaceful and quiet. It’s popular with runners, joggers and walkers. This is a fabulous country walk, partly through bog land and partly through forest. Lots of places to rest. Easy to find and plenty space to park. Picnic close to the main road. Well worth a visit. First time here and it did not disappoint. Spent 3 hours here could have spent more only the kids were wrecked. It's definitely not really buggy ready, few places were a struggle but manageable thankfully as the ground was dry. Can't wait to go back again the next fine day we get Amazing 🌳🌲🌳🌲 Fantastic wooded thats very well maintained by the locality. Easy to get to and facilities too Big open area, nice for a family on a clear summer day ☀️ This was so enjoyable. I had never been to a bog before. I was plenty surprised how clean the pathways were I was expecting to get dirty. Just be careful because car/vans use the pathways to collect turf, obviously as it is a bog. But I think it was less than 5k and very easily walked. This is a great place to clear your head. Parking is minimal but anytime we have gone there has always been a place to park. It felt like walking over a bog. Edit Time to update this review. Group maintaining the bog did fantastic job, there's a good pathway, and newly built with tables and benches, suitable for families to even have a meal. There are some individuals that unfortunately still dump their garbage on the bog, but again, group taking care of the bog does the great job in keeping it clean. Edit2: Great walk, paths even better. Noticed only a small amount of litter from unfortunate individuals. Peaceful walkway through natural bog and woodland. Takes about an hour to whole circut. outside on the road. No toilets or facilities. Popular with locals and dog walkers (dogs must be kept on leads). No enterance fee nor car fee. Interesting bog if you haven't been to a bog .Turf cutting and harvesting daily in the summertime . Benches and tables on route and a trailer with coffee/light refreshments at weekends. Bicycle friendly. Dog friendly. Some of the is woodland. Beautiful and a credit to the local community. It's a 5km loop and is off road so it is safe for children and animals. There is also a beautiful area. Great little hidden spot Great place for a lovely in the nature. But be sure to bring spare shoes n towels if you bring your dogs! Great place for a walk. Not too long nor too short. Nice bit of forest followed by beautiful open view of the bog Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
