On the banks of the Royal canal, the place was humming on a Friday evening and we almost didn’t get to stay without a reservation but we happily found some seats at the bar. The food was simply gorgeous. Elevated pub grub with chowder, steaks (cooked incredibly well) salads and burgers. Huge menu. Staff were really attentive and very friendly. I’d go out of my way to atop here again and next time I’ll make sure I have a reservation. Absolutely top class as always. Food was brilliant from start to finish. Proper homely food, cooked well. Our party of 10 didn't faze our server who was so attentive. Would highly recommend and pre-booking is almost essential during peak times to avoid disappointment. Will definitely be back. Nice pub with unique Irish atmosphere! If you are starving - order food, if you are thirsty - drink a cold pint of beer!!! There is a beautiful path along Boyne River near this pub! We dine at Fureys regularly and always feel so well looked after. The food and drinks are consistently excellent, and there’s such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly accommodating, making every visit a pleasure. The brown bread is an absolute must-try, and the Guinness 0.0 is perfect every time! Highly recommend! Lovely cosy bar with lots of little snug areas. Very nice food and prompt service. I had the seafood chowder and it was delicious. Great place to stop for cars, bicycles and barges. Popped in Wednesday last week and was greeted with a lovely open fire which was most welcome on a bitter cold day. This was followed by such lovely hospitality the staff were just naturally friendly and made you feel very welcome followed by great food which was served promptly and piping hot. Himself said the pints of Guinness were excellent so much so he opted for another pint at the end instead of a coffee high praise indeed. I would suggest booking a table as they were very busy. Great food nice people good value and on the greenway. What more could one want The steak is excellent, cannot fault it! Quality of the meat is great, portions are very generous (fillet steak), everything very fresh, and really reasonable prices. Service is good. The kids menu is worth a mention, I was able to get a plain piece of chicken and some unsalted chips for my toddler and paired it with a salad. Was impressed as kids menus can sometimes be mostly processed food. We had banoffee pie to finish off - it was decent too, but the steak was by far the star of the show. Lovely to sit outside when the weather is nice. Stopped in after our All Ireland Rounders Final win and were treated like champions!!! Thank you so much to the amazing staff! Loved this place years ago before the motorway took us away from it. Revisited it last week for food and nothing had changed except for the lovely beer garden out the back overlooking the canal. Steak, chips, garlic mushrooms and chowder was as good as we remembered and we came away very happy with how they have retained the original atmosphere and quality of this bar.
