Definitely worth the trip!!! €6 for an adult. So pretty and very different . Can swim, paddle board, pedalo, and walk up to the top to overlook the and limestone We was actually the only ones here on a day trip. Makes it that little bit more special. The place to our self's. I can imagine swimming here in the summer is amazing. Really had a good day out. A magical place- just as we exspected from the photos. I was there with two of my interns, on a day trip. Summarising: The entrance fee is absolutely worth it. The area is big, and hosts a beach (with a cafe, and a sauna) to swim, as well as a separate beach where one can rent diving equipment (also has a sauna). You can- if you have good insurance, and are fit, try to clim the mountain next to the main beach. To be honest, with autoimmune-related vertigo, I couldn't risk it. My interns did go all the way up, hence we also have photos from the top of the hill. :) We had some food at the cafe (with the lovely swan mural)- they have fries, (I think also chicken nuggets?) ice cream and drinks. I would have personally wished for a bigger food selection, and a bit lower fees to use the aqua park (8 Euros/person)- but since we didn't use the park anyway, this did not matter much to us. We will definitely be back. (Likely also for a guided Rummu prison tour, which is located 10 mns. Down the road) (photos by me and Timea Czsako) Great body with many unique features. The is usually very clear due to the unique oligotrophic conditions of the flooded former limestone quarry. It is absolutely pleasant to snorkel or dive here almost year-round, as you can encounter various species of fish, such as perch, roach, and sometimes pike. Sometimes gorgeous mats of charophytes cover the bottom at 7-8 m depth. To facilitate underwater recreational activities, many artifacts have been intentionally submerged or mounted here, probably by divers. These include mirrors, a dog or child cabin, bicycles, an artificial Christmas tree, a bell (in commemoration of a sunken diver), and even stone checkers. Till Lindemann, frontman of Rammstein, has even filmed some music videos underwater here. Fascinating place! At first it felt like a high entrance fee for not much to do but then we started exploring and it was fun! The history of how this lake was created is quite interesting and the way the old prison building is submerged and some portion of it partially submerged, it feels really exciting. The of the lake is so clear and clean that you can see the under structures and plants/trees etc. The color of is really turquoise. You can stand on the submerged prison building in such a way that the level is up till your chest. A last minute visit here later in the afternoon was arguably the highlight of the whole trip. Enjoyed the water, spent far too long on the inflatables and didn’t stop laughing the whole time. Felt free to enjoy ourselves how we saw fit. Got a bolt from Tallinn, split between the group it was faster than the bus and fairly affordable but the bus is also an option! Epic location for exploring the underwater sights or if you would like to experience moon like beach day 🙌.
