Ginučiai water mill

The Ginučiai watermill is the only one of the six watermills in the Aukštaitija National Park that has preserved its authentic equipment. In the exhibition you can see the remaining equipment, learn about the bread journey and the devil of the Ginučiai mill. Great place to swim but be careful, that waterfall comes down strong! I also loved the beautiful surroundings. Across the road there was an ice cream truck. The exposition is quite big, and there are a lot of exhibits crammed into the relatively small space of the mill. The internal mechanisms are all visible and impressive. It’s situated on the narrow way between the lakes. All those who take tourism at this place must handle their boats by hand down the road (approximately 30-45 meters), as it is done for today by tourists. Ginuciai surrounded by all kinds of entertainment and meals cafeterias (it was usually before Covid-19’s pandemic). Interesting exposition, very knowledgeable guide and keen to share stories and legends. Lovely to see people excited about their work. Nice surroundings. Beautiful place, but unfortunately there is no information about opening hours, logistics, etc.. As far as I know this is the last functional in Lithuania (non-renovated, ie with its original parts). It was nice to see, but I dident get any wauw feeling.. I will have forgotten all about this place in a couple of weeks 🤷‍♂️ Calm and charming place. Inside the there is a small museum with fantastic guide. The guide explains old traditions of local people who worked and used the hundred years ago. The guide also explains working principles and shows all main parts of the mill. The building of the also contains guest house, beautiful surroundings.
