The most beautifully scenic restaurant, the decor is stunning and modern. We had the cream of vegetable soup to start, honestly never had soup as nice, it came with Guinness bread. For main, we had the rib of beef, again, I've honestly never tasted beef so tender. I wasn't expecting such a reasonable price for a 2 course meal. Really can't wait to go back and also do the farmers market. Should also say, staff were wonderful and friendly. Mountain View Cowshed Events is an absolute gem! The variety of food trucks is fantastic — everything from seafood, Indian, Asian dumplings, churros, to grilled sausages. There’s something for every taste. Beyond food, you can explore a lovely offering organic soaps, creams, CBD products, homemade elderberry juice, jams, fresh bread, and more — all supporting local businesses. Plus, there’s a DJ playing great music, so you can enjoy drinks and dance the day away. Plenty of parking and easy to find, it’s truly one of the best event venues around Kilkenny and Carlow. Highly recommended! Excellent cuisine. Superb and tender short ribs. The atmosphere is great for family or date night. We loved our stay in mountain view. We had a glamping trip for a friend's birthday and couldn't have asked for a better evening. The added bonus of sunshine made for stunning views across the mountains. The atmosphere in this place was just so chilled. We checked out the evening when we arrived, and shared a really tasty spice box. Live music filled the outdoor space, clean toilets, plenty seating, very child friendly space. Our tent was really comfortable and close to the restaurant, which was handy for the walk home. The food in the restaurant was such a high standard, we were so impressed. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, the beef was a big hit with my other half as well, and amazing flavours in every dish. The staff were my kind of people, they were so efficient, yet had a lovely attitude which made for a really relaxing atmosphere. After a great night sleep we headed to the in the morning for our pastry box and well needed coffee, and were lucky enough to have a chat with one of the owners, she is amazing, so passionate about her business, and so approachable. There is so much poured into this business, it's so fab to see it thriving, we will definitely be back, Incredible. The food, the staff, the venue everything was 10/10. It was comfortable, clean, and spacious - felt like we were staying in the tent from Harry Potter, so much bigger on the inside. The bar staff were friendly, responsive and accommodating, and the pints were a good price by today’s standards (€6). The venue is sleek and the views are second to none, especially in clear weather. We stayed during a special sunset held in ‘The Cow Shed’ just down the hill from the main venue. There was a DJ and a great variety of food trucks. We sampled Indian, Asian fusion, Caribbean, and American food. To the last they were delicious and the service was brilliant. The non-food oriented stalls were just as good, from art to jewellery to speciality coffee and vintage clothing. On the Sunday morning after our evening of delicious food and beautiful sunset we were treated to a complimentary breakfast of a drink and a pastry tray. The pastries were a gourmet sausage roll, giant pan au chocolat and croissant. Each one was freshly baked and delicious. All in all we’d recommend the experience to anyone.
