If you find yourself in the area, make sure to stop by Malzards Pub—you won’t regret it. The decor is absolutely charming, with authentic Irish touches that make the space feel both cozy and vibrant. The owner is a standout—genuinely welcoming and clearly passionate about creating a atmosphere. We were lucky enough to enjoy live from an Irish musician, whose soulful songs added a magical layer to the evening. While the pub doesn’t serve its own food, the catering from the restaurant next door was delicious and paired perfectly with the experience. Whether you're after a pint, some live tunes, or just a warm place to relax, Malzards Pub delivers. Highly recommended! My first trip to Ireland and the second stop was in Kilkenny. As part of our package they rented out a small space in this pub for us to relax and enjoy ourselves. Boy did we ever! The was fantastic, and the owner and bartenders treated us like family. They showed us how to play the game of hurling, let us come behind the bar and pour our own pints and other drinks! We danced, planned musical instruments and the was like something out of a movie… I couldn’t have asked for a better more loving team of people hosting us crazy Americans for the night <3 The perfect pub. Old world charm, family tradition, friendly service and incredible innovation. The snug with an open fire on a cold winter's day. The incredible beer garden (like an AI imagined dream of a beer garden) on a summers evening. Perfect. I visited Malzards during my of Ireland last week and had THE BEST TIME! One of my most memorable experiences in Ireland! I had the opportunity to learn about Hurling, practice some drills, and win the contest for my group 😝 I also had the opportunity to pour my own of Guinness. The chips in this pub were THE best chips I had in all of Ireland (I was trying to become a connoisseur of fish and chips… So I ate chips daily all around the country). Owner and his family are FIRST CLASS when it comes to hospitality. Our went there last week and we had a learning to play and listening to music. A MUST DO place to go when you are in the area. Malzards Pub is probably the most authentic country pub you could ever go to with the best of stout in Kilkenny by a mile. Recent winner of the best pub in Ireland. It truly lives up to this accolade. Fred and Gary are two of the soundest bartenders you could meet. You could walk in there any day of the week and the place is buzzing. A big stop off for buses. The is a big hit with the US tourists. Locals are really sound too. My family and I also had the pleasure of staying in Fred's rental house adjoining the pub for nearly two months and this was a experience.
