On site ice cream is amazing and really well priced. I can't recommend this place enough, it's like center parcs but at a fraction of the price with lots of friendly Dutch kids that are always up for football match. You can bring tennis rackets or ping pong, or bowls. They organise events and you can order chips and pizza to eat in your tent, or go out for a meal. It cost us less in the school summer holidays to travel and stay than it would to go to centerparcs and that's before you factor in the extras that centerparcs charges!! Highlights: the is in very nice setting, plenty of green and three ponds of different sizes. Abundance of playgrounds. lowlights: Sanitary facilities were never cleaned in the three days we were there. Camper service (Gary water dump) is very inconvenient (lock/keys) and disgusting. Access to clean water to load the camper is unnecessarily cumbersome and we ended up leaving the facility with an empty tank (water hose provided is disgustingly dirty and could not be detached from the tap). Service/personeel is very poor, they seem inadequate and inexperienced. Too strict time schedule for everything, from the jumping place for kids closing at 6 sharp, the indoor playground at 8 and the ridiculous shop schedule, which is organized in a way to keep it closed around meal times. It felt like everything is made to charge you extra, which takes from the relax one would expect in a camping. This is the best camping/holiday place I've ever been. We planned a car + some tents and a car, we were served with the best comfort plot! Electricity + water and near the toilet-shower amenities. Swimming pool was great and we really enjoyed the small market + bar restaurant. Next time we will make sure to try one of them holiday house or chalet! Thanks a lot for your welcoming despite the busy Assen TT weekend :) It's really located in a forrest. The staff is very polite and friendly. The chalet is very nice. It's very clean and comfortable. The surroundings are nice and quiet. Renting a bike to see the area is s great experience. The TT Assen circuit is close by. We paid more than 2100€ for 7 days, and the apartment was not even clean on our arrival. The bedding and beds smelled of sweat, and there were long-tailed Silverfish in the closet. There was a foul smell of vomit from the drain. When told, the staff didn't seem to care. I don't think we will return. I came to visit a friend at this site. I was met at the entrance by a worker (male - about 40-50 y.o) . He was yelling aggressively and physically tried to intimidate me. He does not make people feel welcome at all. It felt like he wanted to start a physical fight. This was my first visit here, it ruined the whole trip. I fought this was a family friendly destination; however to treat a pregnant woman with a toddler like this is unacceptable. Will not visit again. I emailed and called about the incident at the time, I however to this day have not received any response.
