Low value for the entrance fee. For the kids it was hard to follow, especially from abroad with German or English language which was not available. There's a shuttle bus that takes people from the to the camp, you'll have to count around 1hr for the shuttle/waiting time. Clean and well organized. There was some info and a suitcase from Anne Frank, who also lived there for a few days. Highly recommend. I only gave it 4 stars though as most of the narrative was in Dutch. On the signage I had to use Google Translate - which at times was awkward. The English pamphlet I was given only gave a brief explanation of some of the exhibits. Considering English is widely spoken outside of the NL I thought it was an oversight easily remedied. On the plus side, the audio guide was very good. Dutch-only museum, small and outdated, disappointing experience Considering the dark and important this represents, it's truly disappointing how limited and outdated the experience is. Main issues: Almost all descriptions and videos are only in Dutch. There are very few translations in English or German, making it hard for international visitors to understand the exhibits. The audio headphones provided are in poor condition, many are worn out or broken. A map of the site costs an extra €2, which feels unnecessary after already paying €13.50 for entry. The is quite small, and most of the information can easily be found online. Unfortunately, there was little to no supervision from parents, and children were running around and being loud, which felt very inappropriate in such a solemn place. Some guidance from the staff would be appreciated. On the positive side: The memorial grounds and the camp area are well maintained and historically informative. However, again, most of the descriptions are only in Dutch, so if you don’t speak the language, you’ll need to rely on your phone for translations. Overall: For the price, it was a disappointing experience. A with such a significant should make more effort to be accessible and respectful for all visitors, regardless of language.
