Had a quiet drink only in the beer garden, enjoyed Popped in for Sunday lunch. food with a welcome. Came out with water, treats and a fuss for the dog Fab food here, portions and price. Highly recommend. Went as a party of 12 and it was great. We was only ones dining last night and I can't recommend this pub enough. Please support it and the owners. local pub with food and a selection of quality drinks. We've just had a Sunday dinner at the Rhoswenallt - beef and pork - both done perfectly! The presentation was beautiful, the were (and loud! 😂 But there were a lot of us so they needed to shout to be heard!) and really looked after us all. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced! Definitely will be back. Popped in with family and our dog for food, warm welcome, nothing was too much for the staff. Felt at home. The meals were absolutely cracking and the dog treats went down well. Had heard many things about the place but must say was left a little deflated. Kitchen and waiting all and couldn't do enough. Didn't like the fact that the owner kept walking in and out of the kitchen with bare feet. Bar harldy seen and not much availability when it came to drinks. Food was nice but not much atmosphere, after my experience I can say it's not worth returning Don't let the one missing star put you off, read on. Popped in to check it was ok to come with the family and dogs, then came back with everyone a few weeks later. Both times the there were absolutely and couldn't do enough to help. Really welcoming of the dogs (Lab and Staffy) and were to my family who are no were near as well behaved. Food was pub food quality, reasonable prices considering how expensive everything is these days. The choice was and they managed to please the veggie and lactose intolerant people. Considering we didn't book, we were all really pleased. One of us has mobility needs and managed to get in out and to the loo without issue. I'm not sure the front entrance is doable in a wheelchair but it may be worth phoning as there seems to be a flat garden area and we didn't check the doors there. The only reason this is 4* not 5* is that we where there on a Saturday afternoon and there seems to be a group of locals/regulars that all seemed nice enough but were a bit intimidating to our younger and older family members. There was a bit of loud swearing, vaping indoors and staring like we didn't belong. Although my family all noticed this, no one said it was bad enough to put them off coming again, we would just try a early in the day. Think this was only an issue at all because we had to get in there way to get to the back of the pub and to the bar. (New Owners since I did this review) I think I’ve had the most disgusting service ever! Myself and a few friends went to a local pub that served food, We would prefer to support local independent businesses, There was around 15 kids, 7 adults. So we Pre-Ordered the food. We arranged that we would be there at 6:30, and it all be served and completed by 8:30 so the parents can collect their children, The starters was brought out (slowly) around 7:15, by the time the last of the staters arrived, the first one had finished, Half hour or so later, the main course was being served, again slowly, Yet They hadn’t cleared the dishes yet from the starters, so nowhere really to put the plates down of the main dish, So when they had finally served the Main course, the food wasn’t too bad, One of the female adults went to the toilet, only to find that the lights wasn’t working, so she used the torch on her phone, She sat down and the seat was broken and caused her to fall onto the floor, When we went to the bar, it was Cash Only, so one of the kids asked for a can of Coke which cost £2, gave the bar a £10 note, Guess What! They couldn’t give change! 🤔 At 8:30, the parents were waiting to collect their kids, They hadn’t collected the plates from the Main Meal, And we hadn’t had the desserts 🍮 So we had to ask the venue to put the desserts in take away containers, We were expecting them to charge us for them, No apologies from the and their attitude was disgusting So , I don’t think we’ll be going to that place again! Went for Sunday lunch. Deserves a 5 star rating. Thanks folks you'll see us again. place to unwind and relax. Dog friendly, big beer garden at the rear, comfortable lounge and excellent staff. views across the Cynon Valley. Really offer on Tuesday till Friday between 12 and 3pm. Two meals for £12. We had homemade corned beef pie and gravy. Lots of chips and our was really tasty. Definitely worth a visit! Such a warm welcome. Sunday lunch was amazing . Excellent presentation. 🙂 dog friendly, easy parking, specious beer garden. Come try their very own Rhoss lager 🍺. The food is amazing and the owners are really friendly. It's dog-friendly too—my dog loves the dog ice cream! Definitely recommend this place to anyone! here tonight, Sat 13th December. 14 of us all enjoyed. The food was lovely, extremely helpful. The pub was busy but the service was great. Will certainly return! I had the steak baguette with chips and my partner had the scampi. My partner enjoyed his and a nice size portion. However, the steak baguette was inedible. Really disappointed with the meal. atmosphere up there though and to see it busy again. I wouldn't rush back for another food, staff! service overall. Been coming to the Rhos on and off for a few years but I must say the new owners are the best by far. They put a Robbie Williams tribute act on and it was a superb night (made even better by a guest appearance from 'sweet cheeks' the Abernant terrior) Had loaded fries which hit the spot in readiness to soak up a few Inches cider that were consumed. Keep up the work Siobhan and Alex. Food looked amazing on social media and thought we would try it first hand for a birthday and the food tasted just as and better than what the photos looked like. Everything we had was amazing- and all came out in time. Service was spot on and there was a selection of drinks on tap and bottle! Would highly recommend this place! Definitely no longer dog friendly! We were in the area and searched for a dog pub nearby for lunch. This pub came up 17 mins away so we headed there. We were told we couldn’t go in with dogs, but could sit in the garden, which was fine until it started to rain just after we had ordered food. We were told they could pack it up for us to takeout. 45 mins later we got home and found not all the food was in the cartons. What was there was tasty, even after being reheated, but the whole experience put a bit of a dampener on the day. Really need to update the details online! Appalling service, went for a wedding anniversary meal, took over 30 minutes from the first plate arriving to the last to arrive, had to ask for veg, which had been sat in a Bain Marie of some sort and re heated as pees we’re dull and shrivelled, and gravy and the extras ordered. Food was mediocre and just warm, ask to speak to the manager who wouldn’t come out to see anyone, all they could do was to remove the extras that arrived once people had finished their food! Obviously don’t care about their customers or reputation at all, avoid with all means. Dirty environment also!
