It's a nice place to visit. The itself looks more like abandoned. Free parking, beautiful surroundings. Nice place to seat next to the artificial pod. Excellent experience. Charity run, just £3.50 to get in. Sadly, you don't see much of the as they need restoration money. They have, however, made use of rooms with historical memorabilia. Very interesting. Tea rooms are lovely. Bit disappointed with the gift shop. Missing a trick there. Clean toilets, staff. Beautiful grounds with lake. After looking for somewhere to go to escape the rain, l came across this castle. Within the l found a really interesting telling the story of the owner of the castle, his business and its work force. I also found within the an art gallery with some modern and classical art pieces. The entrance fee to the was really reasonable at only £3.50. Overall l would highly recommend coming here. castle, very informative wonderful grounds ,beautiful gardens,it's a shame the rooms of the are unavailable to see as they do appear very dated . Interesting day out. is well done but stairs are steep. Surprising artefacts such as Egyptian treasures. All were and helpful. Ate at cafe and took a ride on miniature train. Large to walk around too. Parking free. Train £2 each. £3.50 each. very beautiful gardens and lakeside area, enjoy walking on the path, along with riding on the mini train, which is very cute. There are lots of parking space besides the mansion. Stopped by briefly today on route to Brecon Mountain Railway - beautiful day to say hi to the waterfowl and check out the colourful flowers! Castle, lake, trail walk, playground for and cafe are all well maintained and looks great. Perfect for a day trip from Cardiff. Train service from Cardiff is frequent and hopefully soon will get the new tram trains as well. Its about 25 minutes walk from the station. The cafe has good views and has clean toilet facilities. Awesome place for kids, walks around the and a brilliant splash zone. Loved it day out nice train ride and splash for the free parking you can buy food there or take a picnic £2 for the and the train ride BARGIN Interesting offer for visiting, the is small but interesting, the territory for a walk is wonderful. Cafe, delicious tea with cakes. A bit of a hidden gem. well presented with shop and courtyard cafe. The garden around place to walk. Miniature railway in season etc.... not sure of all facilities used to have a fabulous splash park... worth checking out place to visit. Came here yesterday. The is placed on a hill, with views over looking the and that is just below the castle, as well as a view of Mythyr Tydfil. The experience itself isnt the biggest we've seen, but at the time of writing it was £3.50 each person adult ticket so that was fair enough. The information they provide as well as details in the rooms is a sight to behold. They detail such events, such as locomotives, mines, the start some appliances, etc. The experience follows a one way experience, and before you go down to the museum, there is a cafe. There's also acitivies to do there, some leaflets were being handed out to families that had kids. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice explore with a view. Merthyr Tydfil once led the world in iron production today, it tells its story at Cyfarthfa Castle. We explored its industrial legacy, the Crawshay family home, and a fascinating collection of art & antiquities. One of the most scenic drives in Wales; history meets beauty It was a pleasant place to with family and kids. There was enough space for to play as well. Firstly went to go to the closed torensial rain ☔ why King Charles and camila coming to his birthday had no clue. Well organised unfortunately 1.5hours in the rain was testing for everyone. King 👑 was pleasent I had the honour to talk and meet him.. Public toilets need addressing needs closer to the castle. Unfortunately I can't comment on the hence the the no 5star but will do that again. otganisers were friendly, love merthyr and its History. Pictures will show the event would I recommend a vist oh yes the is worth it.. Bar the weather we did it 24 hours rain a month load I don't think I will ever forget it. Cyfartha has the official History.. Go it.. Beautiful and gardens. I love the with the swans and mallards Came here for a day with the family for a day out. Plenty of free parking, good toilets to the entrance to the park, miniature railway, museum, green houses and a splash park. The were friendly and a shout out to John for giving us some key info for our visit. So much history for a small amount of money. Military discount accepted. Fantastic day out with the kids. Beautiful grounds with a large lake. The mini trains were affordable and a nice surprise and loved the which was also very affordable. Brilliant and helpful all ground. Its a day out for a picnic with the family. A wonderful place to highlighting Merthyr Tydfil's historic past. A day out for adults and children alike at anytime of the year. Currently the building is beautifully decorated for the festive season including a hidden Elf trail intermixed throughout the displays, Knowledge and friendly make this the place to visit. Highly recommend. We chose this venue for our wedding day and it didn't disappoint. Even if it's raining you will have photos as the whole is open to use if your booked in. From the moment we booked and throughout the wedding the were absolutely and couldn't do enough to help. So glad we chose to get married there. Thank you so much for making our day so special and being so helpful.
