Had a lovely 18th here, all very very nice. 2 large function rooms with bars and stages on ground level, with snooker room inbetween. On site catering. Has own car park for approx 30 cars adjacent to large Tesco. Very spacious building, great prices friendly Great venue for pool match nice friendly atmosphere Tired and outdated. Good people . Nice place Your can tell they are trying to update this place. Still needs some work but it is going in the right direction. Some of its decor is a bit dated. Cannot comment on bar prices as I did not purchase any drinks Lovely place for a family christening. Decent bar prices too Great location for all your meetings or special occasions. Go See For Your Self. I love the Photos of the Solders past and present. To Those we never will forget. Thank you for your service Gentlemen/Women. Went to a meeting there. Parking very poor, apparently members take priority over users. Place clean inside, outside not so clean, could do with a refurb. Absolutely amazing go there every year for Falklands the reunion the are hard working and so helpful and friendly the place is spotless atmosphere is always happy we are served 2 buffets day and night to be honest never tasted food like it it is delicious and I mean delicious thankyou ever to the who work so hard and gives 100percent xxx Went to the Shanty night. Good beer and great company. An iconic place for birthdays ,funerals or christening and really is a asset to wrexham however the member who served us was terrible, Me and my wife ordered 3 rounds over the time we were there it was the same two drinks each time and got charged 3 different prices . Amazing club, so chilled and relaxed and are fantastic and a credit to the club. A well equipped club for all your needs. A good place to have meetings or gatherings as well as full social events. Friendly and accommodating with catering available if needed. Highly recommended for value and service. Attended a reunion there, remember it as just a memorial hall. Do not recommend booking here for any occasion. Hired for an 18th party, price was £200 due to needing door staff. Had no issues with that but the bar acted like we were putting them out by wanting to be served. Had to constantly reuse our glasses due to there only being 6 wine glasses and the huffed at requesting a gin glass instead of tall glass. The last straw was when I had to ask the barmaid to come into the function room so I could buy a drink, she came through, begrudgingly served it then pulled down the shutters. No announcement of last orders & when asking the barmaid manager the following day we were told it should have been open till 11:45pm. The treatment from the was awful and made many guests uncomfortable, will never use this place again after having hired here for every family function from wedding, and funeral my whole life. Went here yesterday for a 5th party. The room was a great size for a with a large dance floor with plenty of space for the little ones to dance and play. However, there were a few very wobbly tables which I felt were quite unsafe for a children's party. The in the venue were, to put it mildly, diabolical. The girl had a gorgeous Disney princess carriage cake which after a few rounds of happy and some candle blowing she couldn't wait to share with her friends. Her grandma asked the bar for a knife to cut the cake only to be told that they weren't insured to give knives out. It was explained that it was for the cake and that it didn't need a sharp knife and a butter knife would do, again this was refused stating no insurance as the reason. The bar was then asked if she would cut the cake for us in the kitchen she again refused because she wasn't insured to do this. If this was the case it should have been made explicitly clear at time of booking that you would have to supply your own knife for the cutting of cakes. As it was a little girl was left devastated at her as she and her friends couldn't have the cake. Things then went from bad to worse, I took my 4 year old granddaughter and her 3 year old brother to the toilet. My granddaughter is at school and very independent and used to taking herself to the loo and washing her hands. As I was seeing to her brother she went to the sink to wash her hands. As soon as she turned the tap on she screamed saying it had burnt her hand. Looking at her hand the skin was bright red and I immediately put it under the cold tap. I shouted my daughter who went to the bar to inform the barstaff who was totally disinterested shrugging her shoulders and asking what we wanted her to do about it. We asked her to put a sign in the toilets to warn others which she said wasn't her job. She refused to come and check out the water temperature and would not give us contact details for the club manager. After 10 minutes of being in the toilets I turned on the hot tap in the second sink, which had not been used at all within those 10minutes, and the water was immediately scalding hot. There were no caution signs near the taps to alert you to the very hot water. We did note however that the hot water was then turned off about half an hour after we had reported the incident. We also asked if this had been logged in the premises accident book and were told this hadn't been done as she was unable to find it. She said it was locked in the office which she was unable to access which I am sure is a breach of legislation. I would advise anyone thinking of booking any where children are present to disregard this venue as it is an accident waiting to happen. Always warm and friendly.
