It's only a short across but you can also buy a ticket for the ride if you're willing to wait as the queues can be long, or hire a canoe (i was told by a passer by it was £39 each - there were 2 of them on the canoe) 😳. There was a floating market on the other when we went so that was lovely to see. There were steps leading down just as we got to the other side, but that literally only goes just under the bridge to the opposite side. Maybe 10 steps down and then up the other side. We had a ride over the for 45mins. The lady guide was exceptional in her knowledge of all the history and details. She was also a " Skipper" and also lived in her longboat moored there. What a majestic place! This structure is an amazing feat of engineering. Since we arrived late, we missed the chance to book a canoe or boat, but the walking pathway provides excellent on its own. It was windy, but the clear skies let us watch an extremely majestic sunset. The path is narrow, so be prepared if you're afraid of heights. If you have time, you can also explore the area by going around and underneath the aqueduct. Very beautiful place to visit. One thing we have to do without missing is kayaking, kayaking is a must to activity, we can pass through the bridge on top of it doing kayaking.
