This is an interesting site of an old and castle. There's nothing there with regards to actual ruins, but the grounds are very unusual and provide some nice views. Nice little playground for the kids. Plenty of nice spots for a picnic Nice place for a walk. So peaceful. At the very top of Mold High Street is Mold Castle. There is no building any more, just the remains of an old and structure with a at the top (where the original stronghold would have been) and two baileys (flat platforms where there would have been dwellings) on two lower levels. The lower now has a great playground for small kids and the upper has a flat lawn with well kept flower borders. For tree lovers there are some beautiful mature beeches on the top, holly trees and a magnificent sweet chestnut with spiral patterns in its bark on the upper level. The hills are very steep, so it would be a challenge for disabled people. But this is also why it is a great place for runners to practice hill sprints! Lovely to see the renovation works nearing completion. The new visitor centre looks great - really hoping it will have a cafe and loos! Hope the child's play area will be upgraded too? Lovely to see other people enjoying the Hill too. A childhood haunt being lovingly restored and enhanced! 💞 Brilliant place Beautiful place and what a view! Not much to see really and some very steep inclines when walking round. Visitor centre was closed but possibly wirh being midweek and out of season visit. Well maintained and largely accessible site and park. Good views. Free entry. It's worth noting there's no actual here. It's what remains of a and castle, so you have a mound, with a flat bit and another higher mound. But there's no to explore. Think of it as a small park with steep hills. The playground is basically abandoned, and on a quiet day you'll get to interact with local teens trying to have a crafty smoke and hoping to look tough but looking quite adorable really. If you're really into history it's probably quite interesting, but don't expect a major attraction. My three stars reflects that more than any slight on the town. It's not Caernarfon or anything like that. It's a local interest attraction for most. With a disappointing playground. Visitor centre was closed on Good Friday. Ok.
