Decent meal, burger was a bit tough. Outdoor seating would be great on a sunny day. Great lunch, beautiful views would definitely return 👌 This is a great place to visit the views on a clear day are spectacular the food was tasty portions size was good atmosphere very good homely price middle of the road Lovely place, lovely staff. Food wasn't great. We visited the Llangeinor Arms for the first time last night, on the spur of the moment for an evening meal. When we arrived, the behind the bar asked if we had booked, and I said no. She said it would be fine if we ordered right away, which was great. I asked where should we sit, as no direction was offered, and was told 'anywhere'. We moved into the main pub area only then to be told it was all booked apart from one table next to the bar, which we took. So, not exactly 'anywhere'. I ordered 'Luxury Nut Roast' with chips, and my partner ordered steak and ale pie with chips. The indifferent behind the bar took our order but really didn't seem to be that bothered. Whilst waiting for our meals, our drinks arrived, and we sat there amazed at the conversations we witnessed between customers and the bar lady! One guy ordered his drinks and asked for two packets of crisps and was told 'we don't have any crisps'. What pub doesn't have any crisps? Another guy asked if the Strongbow was dry and was greeted with a confused look; he repeated,'I just want to check if the Strongbow cider is dry?' The response from the behind the bar was,'I don't know!' with a big smile on her face. So the guy said, in that case, I'd better stick with...' (whatever it was.). When our food arrived my 'Luxury Nut Roast' consisted of what looked like, and tasted like, a dried packet of nut roast mix, which had had hot water poured on it, mushed into a dish, and microwaved! It resembled a dish of Paxo stuffing that hadn't been baked. The were very overcooked, but oddly enough were rubbery, not crisp! Before ordering, the behind the bar had said the nut roast was a bit dry, but I could have a sauce if I wanted. I asked what the sauce options were, thinking it might be a cranberry or peppercorn and was told 'tomato ketchup' lol. My partner had steak and ale pie with peas and chips. The 'pie' consisted of a casserole dish of meat in gravy with a puff pastry lid served with the same brown rubbery chips. I can honestly say, without doubt, this was the worst meal I've ever had in a pub! The complete and utter 'couldn't care less' attitude of the behind the bar only compounded the disappointment. To be fair, the Llangeinor Arms is a beautiful pub, spotlessly clean, and is in an absolutely stunning location! Sadly, the terrible food and poor service let it down! Truly appalling! It's definitely a first and last time visit! This was our first pub visit since moving to the valleys and the food easily surpassed the amazing views. The staff were lovely and in all it was a superb night. Thank you for having us. Only stopped for a pint but nice atmosphere and beautiful views 😍 We will be back to try the food 👍 Service was not the back brought main meals before starters had to be reminded more than once about things ordered, and the steak in the photos was meant to be medium rare Beautiful view from the conservatory and surrounding area. Equally as beautiful food and fantastic service. Would go here all the time if I didn't live too far away. Absolutely love it here! Great countryside pub, with beautiful views and amazing food. The food was cooked fresh and homemade were amazing and the portion sizes are great! I had the bbq chicken stack and my husband had the sirloin steak. The staff were really friendly and attentive… I would definitely come back in the future. Would definitely recommend this pub, I wouldn’t let any bad reviews put you off as me and my husband could not fault it at all. They also accept card payments as well as cash and the young lad was pleasant. He showed us to our table, took our order and was really helpful too.
