Went to see the Curious Incident of the dog in the night. My first visit to the theatre. The was wonderful and acting supurb. Nice to see not just a bar but hot drinks and ice creams for sale. In the interval. Would recommend. As a previous member from the early 2000's it was lovely to see how the place has changed over the years since my last visit 15 years ago. The refreshed downstairs area is a brilliant change and will serve for many years to come. And, as always, the members are amazing and welcoming making sure you enjoy the latest performance. Remember, book your tickets early. There's rarely any spare seats on performance nights. International Women’s Week special! The House of Bernarda Alba – an all-women production. V. good acting. Good facilities, including bars Seen a few shows here recently and all were so well done. You can really tell that everyone involved pours their heart and soul into the production. There are so many positives - community values, reasonable and accessible prices and lovely atmosphere to name a few. It’s a small local so don’t expect fancy changing scenery and technology, but with the facilities the various crew and cast manage to immerse you in a different world for a couple of hours. The seats are a bit tight but you also come to expect that in older theatres. 🎭 Lovely and excellent prices for shows and refreshments, free parking with security is absolutely brilliant. Well worth a visit for a experience. A sell out for A Christmas Carol 6th December 2019 and the entire week. Very funny and entertaining, and acting for amateurs, you would think on seeing any here that they were professionals, a night for the price of a ticket, which is very reasonable x Small friendly staff Amateur actors are very good too. Show prices very reasonable so are the drinks & Magnum ice cream & ice cream lollies. Caxton is a hidden gem in Grimsby and worth a visit for anyone who is looking for something different to do beyond the stereotypical pub/bar nights in Grimsby. That being said, they do get brownie points for having a bar on site, I appreciate anywhere I can get a glass of wine from. Brilliant play, One Man two Governors! We are so lucky to have this theatre in our town. Caxton is a wonderful theatre, offering a little culture to our little town. The people are friendly and welcoming, the prices are affordable and the plays are incredible. There’s always a good mix of drama or comedy throughout the year and I would highly recommend a visit! Having never been before, I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Firstly, I was impressed with the prices at the bar. Once I'd ordered, I took a deep breath and waited for the price... I needn't have worried, very reasonable. Then, walking into the itself, to find a compact but quaint room. The lights went down, curtains opened, and we were transported to 1970 Britain. The was The Railway Children. For such a compact stage, the actors did such a fantastic job. The cast didn't miss a line and delighted the audience with their adaptation of this classic. All I can say is "thank you, Caxton Theatre" it won't be long before I return. Exceptional show tonight.
