A Bronze Age circle. It consists of nineteen upright stones in an ellipse with another, leaning, middle just south of the centre. There is a west-facing gap in the circle, which may have formed an entrance. The elliptical has diameters 82 and 72 ft. Small pull-in, layby on the side of the road. The area is beautiful. Anyone visiting should park their car on the A30 which is an easier route if driving. Our satnav took us up a gravelled road which one can only drive a small section, so we had to park at a section which looked like a passing place. Of the many circles I've visited this has been one of my favourites. Has a real charm and ambience and when visited i had it to myself. I've read a comment that the person didn't want to leave and I have to say that I also had this feeling. Truly a special place. Parking as for creed tol. Good place. But lot to walk. If you love walking you can see a after 10-15 minute walk. This is beautiful. I went this place with my friends but they don’t like to walk. I myself alone and see such a at the end of walk. Bit difficult to to this place area, it seems people are leaving offerings underneath the large tilted rock. the is not entirely clear and I received a few bug bites on the way to it. also, the splits off into two. we took the right hand side and ended up having to climb a rock wall to get to the site. Accessed from the A30 there's a small layby right next to the start of the pathway, which is marked with a wooden signpost. The leads to the site but it's a bit overgrown so I'd recommend wearing trousers. Follow the until you reach a sealed gate next to a large fallen log. There's an overgrown to the left of the gate that leads to a style. When you climb up the style the is infront of you. It's a lovely, calm space, that shows signs of still being used, with offerings placed under the centre stone. Very photogenic. With the overgrown and climb to get over the style it isn't accessible from the A30 for those with mobility issues. Such a beautifully peaceful circle. Kind of easy to find. Just off the A30, take the public footpath up as far as the sign saying "no vehicles beyond this point". This track way is driveable and at the sign there is a a shallow layby for parking. From there, on foot, follow the pathway up to the farm and follow it round to the right. You get to a fork in the pathway marked with a post to the circle. Take the pathway in your right and just keep following it to the gate and into the circle. We visited at the end of July and the pathway was almost dry but there were a few soft, muddy patches so good footwear would be recommended in wetter conditions (we all had regular trainers on and were fine) I can't explain how peaceful this is. Its surrounded by gorse and lots of wild flowers around. Its quite a small but the stones feel powerful. Its definitely worth the which is probably no more than 15mins from where you leave the car. We had the to ourselves and I really didn't want to leave. Fabulous energy and I will hopefully return 🙏 My second visit to this site and it managed to stay dry for us. Love, love, love this site. A bumpy road to park on with a possible muddy to the site. Tucked away, quiet, loved and intimate place to meditate, journal, connect, set intentions, sing, drum if alone.
