Our Collette tour group of 38 visited this 4th generation working today! Wow! The delicious lunch, visitor center (gift shop) are spectacular, but the most amazing part was the demonstration of the and Jamese. We even petted the and the dogs! for groups, families or a solo visit to the farm! This was a magical experience! By far the best tour I have been on. Jamese (the owner) was friendly, genuine and funny. He asked your name and then remembered it! I loved the whole demonstration and getting to hold a new lamb was the cherry on top! I visiting the farm! Absolutely amazing at Glenshane Country Farm! Jamese welcomed us so nicely, offering tea and biscuits and explaining all about his work and the incredible work of his dogs. He has 650 on the farm—crazy! Then we got to meet his “girls,” the working border collies, and watch a full hour-long demonstration. It was mesmerizing to see how intelligent and eager these are! We even got some tips for training our own border collie at home, and later helped get the into the fence ourselves—so hands-on and fun. To top it off, we visited the beautiful visitor center, and Jamese even let my son hold a week-old lamb. Truly an unforgettable experience—highly for anyone who loves animals and wants a real taste of life! An extra special visitor for pre booked groups only. A warm welcome awaits at this unique and unforgettable Northern Irish experience. Meet and see a shepherd, his sheepdogs, and all the actions involved in moving and guiding sheep. What a wonderful we all had for our Summer Trip this year 23rd August 2025. Starting off with Jamesy giving a talk about all his fantastic dogs, which he trained himself. Talk was by no means boring plenty of humour amongst it. Then watching in action , unbelievable. Then seeing all the different breeds of sheep, petting the wee lamb. All the different varieties of wool . Jamesy done a demonstration of sheering which he made look so easy. Not forgetting the delicious food we got which was a real family affair. Everyone was so lovely and then we all bought something from the well stocked shop for keepsake and memories. Thanks so much to the McCloy family and I . Went to Glenshane as part of a tour group and wow! It was incredible not only learning about the but also about all the time that goes into training the dogs. Of course getting to see and pet the and was a huge bonus. Jamese is so lively and animated and you can tell how much he not only loves what he does but how much he loves and cares for all the animals as well. We also had lunch after and the food was excellent! The potato leek soup was easily the best thing I ate on my trip. Would and would definitely go again if I’m ever lucky enough to find myself in Ireland again. I recomend visiting this farm. Even though It was cold, windy, rainy, and foggy we were able to avoid the elements and watch the dog herding demonstration from a sheltered area. The establishment owner/ farmer/ shepherd/ sheepdog handler was hilarious and really kept us engaged. We got to pet the and the sheep, and even hold new lambs. The food was excellent, the herding and sheering demonstrations were informative, impressive, and simply a delight to watch. I'd rate this as one of my top three favorite things we did in Ireland. This is absolutely amazing! I would everyone to visit and this amazing property and family. We had an amazing lunch, learned a lot about and dogs, then got to see the in action, then got to cuddle some lambs and pat the beautiful dogs. It was a great afternoon and I would this to everyone.
