I had Lentil soup and a tuna sandwich, it was so delicious I forgot to take a picture till I was nearly finished! Service was welcoming and helpful. Good selection of food and cakes. Enjoyed gluten and dairy free potato and leek soup and husband enjoyed lentil soup 😋 It's a small cafe with a very good menu. The food is cooked too order so if busy you have to wait a bit. The are very friendly and helpful. Have been coming here for and lunches for several years now and it's still my first choice in the town. Traditional tearoom / cafe. Food is good and the are amazing. It's quite small, so not a lot of tables. Can you sit outside in the summer. Used to be fabulous when a lady named Pat waited on tables. Gone downhill since she left with substandard waiting staff. Just been in here for the first time in years. Best choice we could have made. The food was and a great choice of cakes....we even brought home massive strawberry tarts. The were the friendliest girls and so polite....even the dogs were welcome. The only downside I found is that it is very cold sitting in the shop and when someone comes in there's an icy blast. If you're a hardy soul you will be fine but personally the heating needs to be improved which would make me visit it more often. Good menu, traditional Scottish food and enough to make anyone happy. Service is generally very good but if busy you may have to wait a bit, it's a small kitchen. are always friendly and helpful. Cosy cafe, atmosphere and nice staff. Full breakfast was huge and tasted amazing. Cake selection is incredible. If only the was stronger. We were there for tea , coffee, pancakes and scones… Best tea room ever!!! Great place to stop of for lunch after doing a long walk in the area. We have been a few times now. The prices are so reasonable and the food is lovely. The best sweet potato and chilli soup I have ever had. HUGE choice of home made bakes, nice coffee, beautiful English fine china and a historic building in a town/village. Easy and free to park nearby too! What a wee place, were great, service was excellent and the were had with out coffees were delicious. The tablet cheesecake was a personal favourite. If you’re looking for the most amazing afternoon tea, then here is where you will find it ☺️ I came in with my mum as a treat for her birthday and I had asked if a window table would be possible which the said they couldn’t guarantee (understandable as they are so popular!) but what a surprise when we came in and saw that they had reserved it for us☺️ The were so and welcoming and the afternoon tea…well, it was just delicious and really great value for money ☺️ Beautifully presented and such a selection - loads of sandwiches and delicious and we were lucky enough to have timed it that we got a scone straight from the oven which was yum! We had to take some away with us as there was some left over but my dad and husband were more than happy to help eat it!
