May 2024: Wow, what a hidden gem of a place! Stopped off for lunch when in St Abbs and it didn't disappoint. It actually looked closed from the front, and if it wasn't for the "open" flag - I'd have probably walked past (the entrance is round the back). Parking is available at the cafe, but it is limited. Plenty of on street parking nearby, but park sensibly as the roads are narrow! Plenty of outdoor seating too if the weather is nice. Now onto the food - had a lovely brie, bacon and cranberry panini with side salad and it was superb! Panini was packed full of filling and highly recommend. Good selection of hot and cold drinks. Plenty of and tray bakes on offer. Very reasonably priced cafe. Staff really and accommodating. There is also a small "honesty box" style library in the same building. Will definitely return if in the area. Great welcoming with outdoor seating. Dogs welcome. Enjoyed gluten free bacon, egg and tomato with delicious gluten free bread from Loughs bakers in Eyemouth. Good selection of gluten free cakes. Vegan options too. We bought quiche and smoked mackerel to have for lunch later. Great they get their locally from Collins in Eyemouth. Serve and chips late on Fridays until 630pm. Just found out today that they do gluten free and chips too. Yum. This is a little community centre with helpful, polite, and speedy service. The food is very traditional fare, and will appeal more to older visitors than foodies. However, the wickedly delicious range of cakes, mostly of the cookie dough traybake type, is compensation and draw enough for any visitor! The is a huge asset to St Abbs, providing an excellent service for locals and visitors alike, including a and chip supper night on Fridays. Good selection of food and drinks. Small seating area. Several tables outside. Well cooked and efficient. Watch out for the seagulls. Lovely little with plenty of tables inside and out. Huge selection of cakes/tray bake slices. I had a delicious cheese scone. Very reasonably priced. The and chips looked delicious too. Dog a plus. The Old School Café in St Abbs is a great place to stop for something to eat. The staff are really and welcoming, and the service always feels relaxed and cheerful. The Scottish breakfast is lovely and sets you up perfectly for a day exploring the coast. The are honestly out of this world, fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. It is the kind of place that makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in, with a warm atmosphere and good food that keeps you coming back. We would definitely recommend calling in here if you are visiting St Abbs We visited St Abbs today and we pop in to this cute to have small bites. I ordered small breakfast, Tuna mayo toastie for my daughter and Breakfast rolls for my husband. The food are delicious, coffee is lush, the service is amazing! Next time I'll try the as we only had short time to explore this beautiful village xx the girl who works there is so too, we feel so welcome as tourists ❤️ highly recommend this when you visit St Abbs 👍🏻 The place itself is quite nice, with a lovely garden and the bonus of being dog friendly. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. We ordered two Cullen Skinks, and it was the first time I’ve ever had it without cream or milk – it was watery and the flavour was overly strong. The bread was just two small soft slices, which didn’t add much to the dish. Staff were fine, polite enough, but nothing special. Overall, the setting is nice, but the food really let it down.
