When we first arrived mid morning the had very low water levels so it was fascinating to see the divers preparing, standing in water thigh level, before heading off to explore one of the many local dive sites. When we returned from our walk later in the day the tide was in. It’s not a very big but it’s very picturesque. Although it’s a working visitors can still explore and there were also locals rod fishing from one of the walls. We finally visited and it certainly did not disappoint. The area was beautiful and the was great too. Lovely remote community. Was very foggy when we visited. We went early and manto get a space though be warned it gets really really busy and there is very little.places to park. Does have a cafe and a public loo. Visitor centre is worth a visit. St Abbs is a nice small fishing village with a small harbour. There is two cafes one at the top and one down in the area. I could see it being a bit of a bun fight during busy periods as the road in is narrow with limited parking. I could also see it being absolutely rammed with people during the summer period. If it wasn't for a certain film would it be so busy? There is plenty of nature trails and costal walks in the area. Kind a feel sorry for the local residents. If you where fit enough would suggest at the Nature reserve car park and walk down. Very pretty, good amount of tucked away in different areas. A few spots long enough for a small camper. Pay and display car parks, confusing messages...no camping overnight as well as £20 for overnight stay. Excellent quality, good value food from the cafe, shame it closed before 4.00. Interesting harbour, history and rock formations. A small quaint with superb views. Located in the heart of a marine reserve. A couple of cafes, one on the and another just us the hill opposite the small museum. Parking is available although not huge there's plenty during the week but can be snug at the weekend. It's great if you're fit and agile, I'm not. Very steep walks. Visitor centre no and a steep climb up to it so I couldn't visit. The sea and the rocks were fantastic so I just sat and watched the sea for a while.
