Had been here before - but a couple of years back. Booked in advance (definitely recommend you do this). Table was ready, service was excellent - and I mean really excellent- with plenty of who clearly know how to treat their customers. Carvery was ample and desserts were very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble ( we had a disabled person & a dog in our party and both were welcomed). Definitely recommended - and look forward to returning soon. The best lunch experience in the area! Lovely food at a very reasonable price! The Admiral Hood is often very busy (unsurprisingly!!), so make sure you book in advance! Staff are always kind and happy to accommodate any requests. Pleased to be a regular customer! 1st time visit and had a good time. There is plenty of choice and catered for varying tastes. For me, even though I ordered a large ham,egg & chips, I would have liked more than 2 slices of ham... but that is a personal preference. Overall, I would return and am sure I will when next in the area The food here is always very nice. Have had a couple of excellent Carveries on Sundays. are always very pleasant & efficient. Gets very busy, especially on a Sunday, so booking is recommended if you want to play safe. Also reasonably priced. Wonderful carvery Sunday lunch. Great choice of meats and extensive vegetables. Small medium or large portion and priced accordingly. Fantastic value for money. Booking essential, deposit taken understandably. Friendly and efficient staff. The team all working very hard to make the experience a positive one, and all succeeded at this. Dogs welcome too. Oh and the cleanest pub loos I’ve ever seen. What a treat! This speaks volumes! Would definitely return if ever in the area. Thank you. We visited this pub every day during our week-long holiday — and honestly, it became the highlight of our trip. The home-cooked food is absolutely delicious, full of flavour and made with real care. Every meal felt comforting and satisfying, like something straight from your own kitchen (if your kitchen happened to have an incredible chef!). But what really makes this place special is the people. The are so warm, friendly, and genuine — they make you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. By the end of the week, it didn’t just feel like a pub, it felt like home. You don’t always realise how much of a positive impact a place like this can have on someone’s holiday, but this one truly did. We left with full hearts (and stomachs!) and can’t wait to come back. Hi we popped in yesterday we haven't been in for long time we had a very nice meal thank you my Partner she had salmon with pasta l had fish platter it lovely thank you for fitting us in as we did book. Hope to see you again soon Kev &Sue We had such a wonderful experience at The Admiral Hood! Even though they were fully booked, the went out of their way to make space for the five of us, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout. The food was absolutely delicious — the lasagne in particular was fantastic, one of the best I’ve had. Great value, friendly service, and a proper cosy English pub feel. Highly recommend. Stayed in the village for four nights 8th - 11th September and pre-booked the inn a couple of days before. On arrival we were met by very pleasant who looked after us very well. Very good food at very reasonable prices. Before leaving the inn we booked the following 3 nights. Again, were very pleasant. food again 1st class. Pie night was unbelievable. Good home cooking at a very low price. A group of local customers also made us feel very welcome not something you come across very often. Our trip from the Isle of Wight was great. Thank you Just had the best Nut Roast I have ever had! Fabulous Sunday carvery for the meat eaters. Huge selection of piping hot fresh vegetables. Attentive and buzzing atmosphere. First carvery I’ve eaten here. Couldn’t fault anything.
