First time here, had to wait for a table as I hadn't booked one. Food was lovely, will definitely be back to try the tea O On our way back from Heighley Gate, we stopped for lunch. We didn’t have a booking, but they were able to accommodate us. When we went inside, most of the guests were enjoying tea. The service was good, and we didn’t have to wait long for our order. I had salmon sandwiches, and my husband had the bacon and brie. Both dishes were generously portioned. This is the third Running Fox outlet we’ve visited, and it continues to impress.. Can't quite begin to describe how lovely the staff are here. I had an aphasia type episode which required medical attention and they were quick to call the ambulance for me and even gave me tea while I was trying to gather myself! Second to none service! I visited 3 days later with my sister in law and partner. We ordered lots of cakes and I had the Foxless scones breakfast which was beautiful. I can see why you all have such good reviews. The Running Fox 🦊 This past weekend, we visited The Running Fox for tea. This chain of bakerys had been on our list of things to do for sooo long, so it was great to finally tick it off! The Running Fox is famous for its tea as you can choose from a variety of menu items, so you can have it exactly how you like it. The standard price is £26.50 per person, and in our opinion, it was worth every penny 😋 From what was available, we had the following; 🥪 cheese savoury and tuna sandwiches 🥧 corned beef and mince beef pies 😍 scones with jam and clotted cream 🍰 chocolate fudge cake and strawberry cheesecake ☕️ all served with unlimited tea or coffee There's a few different locations in the North East, and we highly recommend you check one out if you're ever in the area! First visit to the Kirkharle Bench of the Running Fox as we normally use Felton. Went for Tea for my Husbands Birthday which we pre booked a week in advance. Food was excellent as normal, large doorstop sandwiches, pie, scones and cake. loads of choice. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Only criticism was the seating. We were put on an extremely small table with old metal chairs. The table was so small there was hardly any room for the cake stand. Looked like it was a make shift table, used for overflow. It was also directly in front of a locked door leading outside and the toilets. Freezing cold draft blowing through, we had to sit with our coats on. There was a wood burner in the corner of the room but this was not lit. We complained to the staff but were told they had no idea why the burner was not lit and we were not offered an alternative seat even though a few couples were sitting on tables made for 4 people. Could have put up with the tiny table if it hadn’t been placed in a wind tunnel. We were going to mention this again as we paid and left however the cashier didn’t ask if everything was ok with our food Disappointing considering it cost nearly £60 Absolutely lovely tea experience at The Running Fox this afternoon. We were extremely well looked after by the lovely team. The service was excellent and the food was great. We rolled out absolutely stuffed. Highly recommended. Wonderful place! Staff are so friendly, the place itself is like a Tardis and with the area outside it was great for the dog (welcome inside too). We ended up going twice it was nice. Lunch was fantastic, huge portions, good price and I am now converted to gravy on the side or pretty much anything. Breakfast was also brilliant and huge. Oh my goodness what a beautiful little cafe with a choice of sitting inside or outside in the lovely garden area. The staff are very sweet and very fast working. Their pie was so delicious and beautifully presented. Their tea was perfect for a rainy day and their cheesecake was so stunning and tasty. Beautiful atmosphere inside especially. The place is very well presented and very clean. Definitely want to visit again. They are very considerate and very kind.
