The location is lovely, with a few lodges overlooking ponds and the rolling hills. The only issue is the tiredness of the lodges. It is clean but everything is needing repairs. There is a hot tub which is a nice addition. Avoid at all costs! Booked the cottage via Hoseasons in early August for October half term, knowing accomodation is hard to find for that week. Reviews were mixed about the cottage we booked but a lot had said recently refurbished. Today, 21 days before our booking we have had a slew of emails saying "looking forward to seeing you", then "accomodation is now pet friendly" then that the "pool is now permanently closed". Finally we had a phonecall at 4.30pm cancelling our booking as "all bookings for October and November are being cancelled for renovations". This has now left us frantically looking for accomodation in the area for a big group, in the position we didn't want to be in. Enjoyed three nights here in May-25. We were worried given some of the negative reviews on here, but everything turned out fine - yes the lodge is a bit dated but everything worked, the beds were comfortable, cleanliness was good, and the surrounding landscapes and wildlife truly beautiful. We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend break - thank you. Just come back from a long weekend with friends. I cannot recommend these lodges enough. Our lodge was huge, plenty of space to spread out, en suites for some of the rooms and additional bathrooms for the others. The scenery is absolutely GORGEOUS. We got a lodge with a hot tub and they are serviced every single day, and it was ready to use on our arrival. The swimming pool was a little chilly, but we were warned about this beforehand and were still able to have a nice swim in the sun just a minute walk from or front door. Plenty of restaurants etc around and the kitchen is well kitted for cooking your own meals. We were greeted by a friendly polite friendly staff member and every other staff member we came across during our stay was equally as wonderful. The only star lost is for very nit-picky things including mis-matched wooden panelling in the bathroom that looked a little scruffy, there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms or kitchen, very thin pillows (but I realise this is just a personal preference) and a few cobwebs in some corners (but the lodges are in the middle of nature!) Overall, everyone needs to book a holiday here, it's the ultimate getaway from the city ✨️ Lodges very spacious but tired. Nice and clean just a shame it's been let go. We choose it for fishing and relaxing. Tried fishing no fish pool cold staff helpful but owners need to eject cash to spruce it up. So sad its been let go because bet they where great years ago. They need to look at inside and out . Especially decking can see someone falling through it Most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. My friends and I had a brilliant time and will not hesitate to be coming back Visited the lodge few weeks ago. The property was very large and great hot tub, but unfortunately very tired furniture, sofas very worn and property not too clean, and the utility room had lots of flies which where also in the lounge/kitchen area, as we had buffet food this was very off putting. Beds not very big, not full double and as we were sharing this was a struggle. No towels in property we had to ask for them, not enough drinking glasses. We did contact reception and the lady did bring these. But we feel the place could have done with a good clean, and the big flies made us feel the property was very unclean and put us off coming back. Great for walks outside though. Pool isn’t heated not really useable even the kids didn’t stay in it - sofas are ripped and not comfortable to sit on these was starting to rip 2years ago - no hot water much - & hardly anyone is contactable at reception this was the same 2 years ago - on a positive note house is clean and beautiful and beds are so comfortable maybe not pillows - it’s a beautiful area and it just needs money spent on it which they must have with weekly fees hopefully it all gets an uplift and heater in pool 🫶🏽 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
