First time visiting and we Absolutely love this place. Staying in our motorhome in the Madoc area massive pitches with bench and fire pit all lakeside, Fishing is fantastic, lovely breakfast, already looking to rebook. Just an update from the review below. Again, just disappointed that we had to sit in all night from 6pm as it was too cold to sit outside with no fire wood. It states on pitch up that firewood MUST be purchased on site and you can’t use anything else. (Please see below photo) Would also just like to add that pitches are lovely but completely not worth £45 in November. Showers also require attention. One minute freezing one minute scolding. What a joke!!! £45 for a one night stay on fully serviced in NOVEMBER. Advertised on website that you had to purchase from the site, fine. I’m happy to support this. Turned up, no wood? Considering we’ve come on the coldest night of the year and the site is open all year round you’d expect them to be stocked up!! Managed to get ONE BAG AT 5:00pm and was told the owner would be back with a truck load at 7:00pm - decided to walk down to reception to ring the wardens to ask if any had been delivered, was told no sorry and the manager wasn’t going to be coming with the wood!!! So we’ve paid £45 for one night, barely. And can’t even be given the supplies that are SUPPOSED to be available on site! May seem a bit dramatic but why would I pay £45 to stay in my van for one night when I could be sat outside round a campfire enjoying the outdoors??? Just got back from Common after a four day fishing trip on Llewellyn lake and had a great time, me and my pal both beat our personal best. The fish in Llewellyn are in amazing condition the place is pretty clean and tidy. The Bailiff Tony was brilliant, he came around every morning and anything we needed he sorted, he also shared his knowledge of the lake with us. We had breakfast delivered to our pegs and we also went down to the bar for a pizza and beers in the evening. The pizza’s are handmade and cooked in a pizza oven and it’s the best tasting pizza i have had in a while. The food and atmosphere is great.
