Lovely few days away for hubbys birthday, took the dog his first holiday too. Very spacious cabin 2 bedrooms both with en-suites large kitchen space fully equipped, complimentary pint of milk and treats for the pooch was a nice touch. Local Tesco takeaways etc less than 10min drive away perfect location for peace and quiet Just returned from our second visit this year to the Woodland Park lodges, stayed in the Maple lodge which was warm , cosy, and had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable and just lazing in the hot tub watching the birds and squirrels in the tree canopy was so relaxing, such a lovely peaceful enviroment. ⭐ 1 out of 5 stars Disappointing Stay – Needs Major Improvements We stayed at the woodland park lodge Cabins hoping for a peaceful break for our 26th weddinganniversary, but it was a letdown from the start. The master bedroom mattress was rock-hard and unbearable, forcing us to move to the smaller room. That room had its own issues—the door wouldn’t stay shut and kept swinging into the bed unless blocked with a suitcase. There was no curtain on the door to the hot tub, so anyone parked outside could see straight into the kitchen. The radiator in the main room was loose, and the kitchen light flickered dangerously when turned on. The hob, oven, and backsplash were dirty, and the Wi-Fi barely worked outside the main room. The gazebo over the hot tub didn’t cover the ends, so rainwater poured in while we were using it. Cobwebs and spiders were everywhere, and the ashtray from previous guests hadn’t been emptied. The shower had mould, and the bathroom trim was coming away from the wall. We left a day early and tried to inform someone, but no staff were around. We left the key with a note explaining why—but over 24 hours later, still no response. No call, no email. Very disappointing. Would not recommend until serious cleaning, maintenance, and customer service improvements are made. We’ve just returned from a 4-night stay at Woodland Park Lodges in Ellesmere, and we honestly had an amazing time. We stayed in the *Snowdrop Lodge*, and at first, we were a bit unsure about the location since it's the end cabin right by the road. But we were completely wrong to worry – it turned out to be perfect! Despite its position, it felt private and peaceful, with very few vehicles passing by. One of the highlights for us (and especially for our dogs!) was the huge windows with beautiful woodland views – the dogs spent hours just watching the world go by and so did we… The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable. The beds and sofa were great, and the kitchen had everything we needed – though a larger mug for tea would be a nice addition for fellow tea lovers! The only downside was with the TV remote – it only worked when pointing directly at the screen from close up. We mentioned it to a staff member, and although we didn’t make a fuss, we’re sure they would have sorted it quickly if we’d asked. Everything was lovely, but we did notice the inside roof beams, windows and decking areas were getting a bit grubby so perhaps a deep clean might be due soon. Overall though, we had a brilliant experience. Peaceful, comfortable, and dog-friendly – we’ll definitely be back! We recently stayed in Oak lodge, which was beautifully decorated for my husbands birthday celebration. The lodge was warm, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Lovely quiet area, my children loved watching the squirrels and star gazing (as well as the hot tub!). Not far from Ellesmere so feels remote without being remote. Staff were great from the initial booking to check out and nothing was too much trouble. We’re already planning our return - thanks Woodland Park Lodges for a great stay!
