We had the afternoon tea, we have had many afternoon teas and this was not the best, in fact value for money one of the worst. £36 for 2 there was 4 finger sandwiches (1 round) a very small quiche thing, a scone with jam and cream, a brownie, bara birth (I could see through it was sliced so thin) and a small sponge cake, these were but size, I feel £10 would have been a fairer price even then there wasn't much to it, sorry, my opinion and I would bother with it! There's a large car park to the side of the building; you need to collect a token from if using it. There is also a small disabled-friendly space at the front of the building, with ramp access. On our visit (today) the tea were very with a large party. We took the precaution of reserving a table, and I'd recommend doing so if you definitely want to eat here as it gets very - and this was a Tuesday outside of the 'usual' tourist season. My partner and I both elected to have a cheese and onion toasted sandwich, and were offered a choice of breads, deciding on granary. There was also a choice of salad or chips, so chose chips, together with a pot if tea for two. The latter was served in an old-fashioned teapot with china cups. We enjoyed our meal and would certainly recommend the tea should you be visiting the aqueduct. This review is just for the restaurant, didn't even know they have rooms. Amazingly bright and airy inside which was expected having been an old chapel, great they have kept quite a lot of the original woodwork, And very clean and nicely decorated with local pictures etc. all around. Quite decent variety on menu, service, food took a bit but it was and a quite pleasant place to be, although the seats at the tables weren't super comfortable. But food was nicely prepared tasted good, nothing spectacular but decent prices also. It is a really charming, comfortable space & the service was & prompt. We had a piece of Victoria sponge cake & carrot cake, both of which were really delicious. We also had a cheese & caramelized onion toastie which was very yummy. The star of the meal were some fabulous chips (fries) that accompanied the toastie. They were perfection, chunky, crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. It was a wonderful light lunch. We had a lunch (toasties and burger meals). The were very accommodating allowing wheelchair access via the back entrance. The lady was also very helpful offering us a table even when we had not booked. The food was delicious. Loved that it was also dog (even though we do not have a dog!). Would 100% recommend this tea room! Went for breakfast this morning with my nephew I only live about a mile away but this was my first visit what a wonderful experience the really and the the breakfast came WOW everything was cooked to perfection can’t thank you enough coming again next weekend. old chapel converted to cafe. staff, selection on the menu. Always us this place when walking as I can park my car all day for £3 and at end of the walk enjoy the delights of this place. Very hidden team room - very kind staff, sandwiches and teas, dog and spacious We went here today for afternoon tea as part of our wedding anniversary treat ,it was absolutely lovely, food was amazing and plenty of it, the were very pleasant and helpful.we will definitely be going back . We have visited the tea on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always nice, the tea is amazing value for a pot that size. All the are and helpful. Toilets are extremely clean.
