A great drive and . Lots of walks and parking spots along the way. Sheep in natural environment. The Horseshoe Pass Viewpoint, situated along the A542 between Llandegla and Llangollen in Denbighshire, North East Wales, offers breathtaking panoramic of the surrounding landscape. This scenic mountain pass, known in Welsh as Bwlch yr Oernant, meaning "Pass of the Cold Stream," reaches an elevation of 417 meters (1,368 feet) and derives its English name from the distinctive horseshoe shape of the as it contours the valley. Constructed as a turnpike in 1811, the viewpoint provides stunning vistas of the Clwydian Range, including Llantysilio Mountain and Cyrn-y-Brain, making it a popular spot for cyclists, motorcyclists, and hikers seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of North Wales. A fantastic view of the green valleys and hills! There’s a parking area (really just an area to pull over) to take in the and breathe that fresh welsh air. Beautiful views, tramped out here in the wagon, very quiet throughout the night, woke up to a beautiful scenery Just beautiful surroundings scenery but the hill was killer for a fat bloke like me who's better suited to burgers than hill climbs 😁 Having never been to this location or ever having heard of it my wife after 20 years marriage mentioned she had been here and it was hilly. So we gave it a visit and wow such a great climb by (not too steep) and plenty of viewpoint parking was available when we arrived but I could see it being busy at peak times. Fantastic all around, wonderful colours at the time of year we went (early autumn), a few rather brave sheep wandering around both on the land and occasionally wandering into the which really doesn't faze them half as much as it does drivers and I guess some great walking routes around. Overall a nice place to visit and glad my wife managed to mention it, now I wonder what other places she has forgotten to mention. ;) What can we say about this lovely place what a long with some lovely places to stop and take the in and they are you can do some walking around the area or if you are just stopping for 10 Stayed at Llangollen and accessed the Horseshoe pass each time we went either to Rhyl or Llandudno. Beautiful pass...
