Good local chippy, and cooked to order, good prices, friendly staff. Very good take away, although the sausage and meals were a bit expensive. We couldn't fault the taste though. At last now had the ultimate in and chips. Flavor of the Cod and was outstanding. Had been recommended this restaurant for its quality and I can certainly vouch for it. However I find their portion sizes are poor, they only have regular and small sizes. The regular size is the same size as a kids meal elsewhere, the small size looks like a couple of extra taken off. I understand from reading a response to another review, they have done this for the past 15 year's and have no reason to change. However I’m still hungry!! portions tiny, most expensive around - not value for money. Went back again a few weeks ago, still the size of a finger. Cost over £20 one bag of and two fish. Complete rip off. These guys there have mental issues. Oil must be changed more often. Taste is not the best one. Avoid that place. There are more way better places around. I Recently visited this shop, had rissole and and pie and which in total came to just over £15. I am fully aware that prices at takeaways have gone up which i do not mind paying if the food is edible which ours was far from that.The were obviously left over from the evening before and warmed up and the same with the rissole. We will never return to this shop. I have given one star on each question only because I couldn't post this complaint if I didn't answer them. In my opinion each question should have been 0 warm and not fresh, battered sausage kinda. If this is regional 1st place chippie then standards are very low in this region. We had Penaluna’s road chip to cater for our wedding and can not praise them highly enough. Great food and service no one waited long even though they had over 250 meals to do. We’ve been complimented numerous times since the wedding on how good the food was. They were very flexible with the options offered to us and all gluten free too 😊. Last time we had food here my was awful, in fact i thought i had been given a plaice! This was a gluten free meal. The was hard, and the portion of was very small for £4, one scope in a tray. I rang the shop and decided I would have my money back and returned the food as it was inedible. Today I decided to order battered sausage and gluten free, I checked my food and the were undercooked. I went straight back in and the member of staff was polite and cooked my a bit more. The sausage and had no on it! I understand the consistency of gluten free is different however this is the second time. The sausage had not been dried off and dipped in rice flour prior to battering and the is not being made properly. I used to run a shop. The quality of food has declined dramatically over the last year and so have the ages of the staff. And instead of replying with defensive comments the owner would do well to read people’s reviews with curiosity and self reflect on why these reviews are being written by long term customers. To be able to rectify the issues. We won’t be back! And before it’s written the is all weighed, what weight? What weight are you working to? Because I can supply pictures.
