Honestly, if I could give zero stars I would! This is our go to and chip shop and we therefore travel a little distance hence, why we ask for our to be packaged separately from our chips. Despite asking for this and a polite reminder too, upon arriving home we found the and had been packaged into the same box, had sweat and ended up a soggy mess! Called in at Northallerton late afternoon today and ordered Steak pie, chips, mushy peas and a weak black tea. The mushy peas and tea were hot and tasty. The steak pie was Luke warm and dry verging on stale! The were mostly scraps and half had eyes on them....for over £10 I was absolutely disgusted. Unfortunately I couldn't take them back as I was in a rush. A real disappointment as the food at the White Horse is normally superb! Called ahead to order 3x and chips. Thinking they would be ready for me getting there.
