Lovely pub by the river, good selection of ale's and food. Nice to be able to sit outside in the sun, so peaceful listening to the birds and watching the boat's float by. We booked a table and glad we did as it was busy, we sat inside as there were quite a few wasps in the garden, not surprising this time of year. We had cod and chips with peas and it was really nice. But the icing on the cake was the puddings boozy bread and butter pudding for my husband and sticky toffee pudding for me. It was a really nice meal, very friendly pub and reasonably priced too. The location is also really nice too right besides the canal so perfect if you are doing the walk. Good pub, good choice of beers and variety of meals on the menu at reasonable prices. Good service from the friendly staff. We sat in the garden next to the canal as it was a warm day. We stopped off after a stroll along the towpath. Garden has steps. Very quick efficient serving. Friendly staff and a very homely atmosphere. The chips are lovely and crunchy and the desserts were delicious. Beautiful place along the canal. Parking limited but we managed to find one because of the time of day 2.40pm. food was excellent and served very fast. We ate in the garden around the back overlooking the canal. I'm a slow eater and after 40 minutes of arriving waitress kept coming to see if I'd finished food so I felt rushed to finish my food. In fairness though it could have been because they had stopped serving food by 3 pm and maybe wanted to get all the plates washed and away for the evening meals Would definitely go back there again though as people were very friendly I ordered homemade sweet potatoe, spinach and chickpea curry, which came with a small naan and half and half rice and home made chips. And it was lovely! Tasted fresh really enjoyed it (pub currys usually aren't the greatest but this was nice!!) It came quickly and was piping hot! And I had half a pint on inches cider and chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for dessert which was nice and it came to £22.70 so not bad! Portion sizes were good also. I ate it all 😋 They were friendly on the phone, and friendly when serving me. There is a small garden out back overlooking canal with tables etc. Honestly I'm usually sceptical of going out to eat in the whole of Wales as usually sometimes people decide not to be open or they decide to stop serving when they want to for the day (regardless of what it says online) and been really messed over endless times with it even when checking multiple times to see if it open amd serving (and my partner is from Wales and also agrees this is a common problem), and alot of the time food can be standard. I also heard other people on other tables who were enjoying their food aswell. I'll deffo be back for a mini camp break again before summer/autumn is over (I stayed at the capsite just 150yrds up the road) with my partner and come bk here for food! There were apple trees along the road aswell where I may or may not have plucked a few 🫢 Moored up on our way to Brecon, what a lovely place! Old traditional pub, very welcoming and ok to take dogs inside. We found a quiet corner and ordered a seafood basket and a steak and chips. The food was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Very highly recommended My husband had Sunday lunch here 2 weeks ago and loved it. We visited 12th October with parents and were disappointed. We had Sunday lunch .nicely presented however the meat was cold and the gravy lukewarm. The “boozy “bread and butter pudding wasn’t boozy( 2 weeks ago was presented with a small measure of whisky). The portion of banoffee pie was very small- literally two spoonfuls. It was a shame as my husband thoroughly enjoyed it on his last visit.
